The Clifton Hotel
The shower was scolding hot and unable to be changed.
The lighting was poor.
Friendly, convenient and good value for money
The Clifton Hotel is in an ideal location for a start and very reasonably priced for where it is.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is a secure car park and an excellent and inviting cafe in the foyer, which I found very appealing. My shower was broken which was a shame but other than that it was perfect and I would recommend. I will definitely go back.
As previous reviews have mentioned badly in need of an update.
Everything about the room needed attention that no amount of cleaning can change. Fortunately we were only there for 1 night.
Excellent stay, slightly expensive
Stayed here with a friend (one "Executive double" and one single room) while visiting Bristol for a reunion of sorts with some university friends.
Great customer service when we arrived, receptionists couldn't do enough to help us. At first appearances, the hotel is smart and modern looking, however the hallways and stairs etc could do with sprucing up. My "executive double" room was lovely, and fairly good value for money. Liked the fruit basket as an extra touch. The single room was tiny, which was expected, but we felt it was a bit overpriced given the size and amenities provided. However, the service and friendliness of all the staff was excellent, and our stay was a very pleasant one. Will definitely use again.
Business Trip to Bristol
Room was very small and the decoration was dated, I had to retune the TV as many channels were missing.
The on suite bathroom had been modernised and was clean and tidy. The hallways were in need of attention as the paintwork was looking very shabby. The breakfast was good and the service was friendly.
The Clifton Hotel
Good value for money.
We have stayed here before and the hotel is very good value for money as it is centrally located and there is parking, although we thought this was included last time we stayed and we had to pay extra this time, but that might have been part of the 'deal' we had. The room was immaculately clean and although some of the furnishings had seen better days, it was fine and the provision of fresh fruit was very welcome. It isn't the quietest of positions, but this is not the fault of the hotel, because the bar below is cleared at a reasonable time. It's great if you want to be able to walk to the pubs/restaurants in the White Ladies Road/Clifton/Park Street area and is also handy for the museum and art gallery. It is a bit 'no frills' e.g. you don't get your suitcases carried to your room for you, but we didn't expect this for the price and there's a lift, so this is fine and the staff are pleasant.
Really nice hotel in a really good location
Staff was lovely and helpful.
Provided everything we asked for. Will definitely stay again!
Overpriced, lousy accommodation standard, small rooms, little on-street parking, nothing to redeem a poor standard of hotel.
I'm surprised this hotel can be listed as such.
If you like your room to be like a nightclub until 1am, this is definitely the hotel for you. Terrible room, the door didn't even shit properly, dated, uncomfortable bed and the hairdryer didn't work. Ah well....only cost £100....truly awful
nice central hotel
my room was small but had everything you could need with some nice touches such as fresh fruit, ground coffee and tea leaves.
Everything was clean and worked well. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
