Dont be put off by the student accommodation near by...

With the hotel so nearby the Sheffield Uni campus it does feel a bit strange, but as it was close to Christmas most of the students had gone home so it was quiet.

The staff are friendly and the rooms are fine for 1 or 2 night stay.

Nice to have a breakfast menu to choose from that is served to your table, rather than just a buffet service.

Friendly staff. Asked for a ground floor room and got what I wanted.

This was perfect for an overnight stay whilst my father was at hospital.

Staff very friendly, food excellent and disabled room had an excellent wet room. Was strange to be in amongst all the university buildings but was not a problem

Perfectly pleasant stay

Can't complain in any way, room was very clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom.

Only thing that I thought was lacking was a kettle and tea/coffee in the rooms. There is a free unlimited machine near the lobby but it's not the same as having the convenience of it in your room. Reception staff were friendly and booked taxis for us on multiple occasions which was very helpful. Would recommend for parents visiting their children at university as it is very closely located to their halls. If you're going to Sheffield for a city break however I would recommend going to a hotel more centrally located. It's a good hotel for business trips.

A hotel for business or leisure

The accommodation was comfortable, the service at reception and dinner was superb.

For a business traveler, the facilities including parking are very useful. The Botanical Garden and open spaces afford a chance to unwind.

Ideal location

We have stayed at this hotel several times now as it is an ideal location to visit my son at uni.

It is also in walking distance of several restaurants and bars. The hotel is spotless and the staff extremely friendly - even gave me a hug when I was upset saying goodbye to family!!!. Usually I give this hotel top marks unfortunately this time service in the restaurant wasn't up to its faultless standard; sure this was totally due to the busyness of the hotel.

Halifax Hall

I have stayed here before and have always found this hotel to be clean, with good sized rooms and very friendly staff.

It is ideally situated and although it is in the middle of university accommodation there was no problem with noise or rowdiness. The food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful and efficient. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
