This was our second visit to this hotel.
We booked a business class room which was very comfortable. Good pool facilities. Breakfast at this hotel is great, plenty of choice and can have some items cooked to orider. Everyone very helpful would definitely stay again if in Durham.
Great hotel in ideal location.
Staff were extremely helpful.
Short Break -North East
Stayed over Summer Bank Holiday weekend. Convenient for Durham town centre and based for North-East generally. My only disappointment was the extra car parking charges levied, when there is a free car park directly opposite the hotel which is free on Sundays and Bank Holidays!
Excellent as usual
We love staying at the Raddison Hotels, always top quality service for rooms and food.
Radisson BLU Hotel Durham
I gave a 4 to costumer service for the reason that I would've appreciate if I had some beding prepare for the sofa bed .
We arrived very late at the hotel and despite calling them in the morning to announce that will check in late the sofa was not prepared for the child to sleep in and we had to wait around 30 min in till it was made.
Fab weekend break
Lovely modern hotel with great views of the river, close enough to town but away from the noise so very quiet.
Lovely clean pool and spa.
Lovely Durham Hotel
This is a really nice hotel, ideally situated for most parts of Durham City.
There is a quiet road passing the exterior of the hotel, and then the river and a walk over bridge which takes you swiftly into the centre of town. When we checked in we were given a room on the 4th floor, this was a business class room (we had expected a standard room) so this was a lovely surprise. I had advised the hotel that this was a special occasion, and we were greeted to mini birthday cakes in our room, a lovely touch. This hotel is well presented, well appointed and has lovely amenities including a well appointed gym and leisure pool. Breakfast had a lovely selection, definitely something to suit everyone and it is really well presented. The down side of the hotel that we noticed were quite small, we struggled to catch staff to order items at breakfast and it would have been easier to stick with the selection already available, and when I did order the order was forgotten about, no big drama but a bit disappointing. Some of the staff at check in/ main reception came over as a little distracted and the welcome did not come over as warm. It would have been much nicer to have been welcomed to the hotel in a warm and friendly manner, however I kind of felt that I was putting people out. And this was on more than one occasion and with more than one staff member (not all) even when I tried to make conversation by complementing the hotel. Other than that this is a really nice hotel and I would stay there again.
Quality hotel with a good position
Definitely a step up from a Premier Inn.
Excellent breakfast buffet and choices. Felt comfortable there even though I was on my own.
Central location with great views , good hotel service and super food.
Hotel was easily found as well signposted.
Very central to the town and theatre area. The food was super as we dined at the hotel in the evening and breakfast had a very good selection. As expected of a Radisson hotel.
Attention to detail needed
As always, a clean well appointed room near to city centre, but, no toiletries, wifi spasmodic, had to ask for a chair in room and tv kept turning itself off after 10 mins.
Reception said, ' we are aware of the toiletries situation.' If they were aware why didn't they buy some as we had to . But a really nice hotel with good views and location. You need to get your act together!
