About the hotel
Nestled in the historic village of Croft-on-Tees with free WI-FI and parking, just 8 minutes from Darlington via the A66, this 18th Century property offers quiet surroundings, riverside views, cosy accommodation. Originally built in 1835, this old coaching inn has been lovingly renovated into a traditional-yet-stylish country hotel. Sympathetically combining period features with modern decor it cultivates a wonderfully vibrant, yet relaxing atmosphere.
The peaceful nature of its surroundings is further complemented by its position in front of The Croft Bridge, with marvellous views of the River Tees and St Peter’s Church, supposedly where Lewis Carroll was inspired to write Alice in Wonderland. Offering a friendly warm welcome, great hospitality and a convenient location it is the perfect place for both business and leisure travellers alike. Each of the 20 en-suite rooms have been decorated and furnished to the highest of standards. Comfort and relaxation are implicit in their design and all rooms come fully equipped with all the necessary conveniences one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Including: bath/shower combo, TV, Egyptian cotton linen, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. For those who can’t leave the office behind, there is also a work desk, direct-dial telephone and free Wi-Fi access. Some rooms have beautiful views of Croft Bridge and St Peter's Church. Double and Twin room types are available or guests can upgrade to a more spacious Superior Room with either King or Queen Size beds. The on-site restaurant serves up a delicious range of tasty dishes, specialising in traditional English cuisine with contemporary influences.
