Last minute stopover.

My husband and I booked this last minute on the way back home to Scotland from Norfolk.

On first arriving it is not obvious where the door is to get in as there are more than one and none clearly marked as being the main entrance. Once we were in however we were shown to a very nice room which was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom also was larger than a lot of places we have stayed in. On going to find something to eat later on I enquired whether they served bar meals and was told that they did. We ordered drinks and were shown to a very small table in a corner with rather uncomfortable benches for seats. Menus were brought, and while they did indeed serve food in the bar, it was an a la carte menu which was not what we wanted but we had already got our drinks by this time and didn't really want to gulp them down to find somewhere with a more suitable menu so we ordered. The food was very nice but rather more expensive than we had anticipated and we did rather feel as though we were looked down on slightly by some of the staff as we were not dressed for that type of meal although everyone was very polite and courteous. We had a very comfortable night only to be woken quite early by someone outside making a lot of noise doing what sounded like dragging bins about. Overall it was a pleasant stay and somewhere we would return to if in the area although we wouldn't go out of our way to do so.
