Good local Hotel
Good central location - ideal for gigs at Cheese and Grain, Have Stayed on 3 occasions this year, rooms good, breakfast and service not so - you have to hunt for the room.
Best to pay room only and have a cheap breakfast at one of the many cafes
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room comfortable but very hot in the night, though fan was provided which helped. 1st floor overlooking road so quite noisy. Food good in the evening, but at breakfast was less good - the scrambled egg was very overcooked. Once again staff very good. Secure parking an added bonus.
Excellent overnight stay
I arrived in Frome having had serious food poisoning and just wanted to sleep and relax.
The reception was excellent and the quality of the room was perfect. I enjoyed a very comfortable night .
Great room, shame about the service
The room was larger than average and thankfully had a fan as the weather was hot.
Check in was poor as reception was empty and we had to do it a busy bar. Not ideal after a long journey. Underground car park was cramped. Worst problem was breakfast. After waiting for an hour we gave up. Returning to our room we found the cleaner already there although she apologised. We decided to leave a day early [health problem] and we were pleasantly surprised when they apologised for breakfast mayhem & didn't charge for the night we didn't stay. So they partially redeemed themselves.
Noisy plumbing was the only fault worth mentioning but given the age of the property, not surprised.....everything else was very good.
An acceptable place to stay, cooked breakfast was a bit mean but otherwise good on the whole.
Friendly hotel, lovely atmosphere
Lots of stairs to rooms.
Rooms at front very noisy ask for room at back. Our bathroom very tiny but ok.
relaxed after day at longleat Safari
We had the great pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel.
High quality service. Tea , coffee, hot chocolate , home made biscuits, bottled water, quality toiletries and fluffy towels. Very comfortable bed. Had dinner on the first evening so good. A roast beef dinner with a separate large dish of selected vegetables pipping hot tansy gravy £6.50 filled by a cheese board with mature chedder, grapes, celery, many crackers and biscuits with onion chutney only £4.50 amazing value. Lovely bar, very friendly staff. We will defiantly return .
Pub looks a little tired but the rooms have been updated and are spotless, customer service excellent and food superb.
