Very dated. Needs a deep clean and bringing up to date..
Great Value for Money
I need a room for as little as possible for a short time and the small single room I was given was perfect, I didn't expect much from the hotel given the price but the room was lovely decorated and very clean.
There was nothing to fault, the room I stayed in was between floors and on a landing so I did here foot traffic but it wasnt disturbing as the bed was far from the door, the floor was extremely creaky but expected from the age of the building only I felt worried I would disturb anyone underneath me. I had a view of the sea from my room which was lovely and also of the road where I parked my car so I felt secure seeing it safe. The reception was very good and welcoming although the information regarding the room and check out was to be found out via the website or a bit of paper on the back of the room door. I didn't have breakfast however it smelt amazing but I can comment on what was provided in the room- basic tea and coffee with UHT milk no biscuits (which was a little shame haha) and sugar but when I came to make a coffee in the morning I was left spoon less and when asked for one was not given one. Soap is provided in dispensers (like a public toilet) however didn't use. Would definitely stay here again.
Do not stay at this hotel - £70 a night? Better off in your car.
Absolutely appalling hostel - sorry, hotel.
I had to stay here as there were no other places for the evening, now I know why. When I arrived the lady on reception was polite enough, but the policy is payment upfront which I thought was a bit strange.
The lift wasn't going up to the top floor so I had to trudge up the stairs with my luggage, the poor quality wallpaper in the hallway was peeling off and dirty, the carpets were filthy. Got to my room, very basic with IKEA furniture and a small tv that was fixed to the wall on a diagonal angle (great if you're drunk, not great if you actually want to watch tv). There was no net curtain so I had to get sit with the curtains shut at all times. Now for the bathroom: The toilet GROANED for five minutes after every flush, there was long dark hair matted into the shower drain; when I plucked up the courage to have a shower (in the shower tray which was covered in mould and mildew) the shower drain backed up because of the hair, the showe head wouldn't stay up on its own. When I went to dry myself off I opened the folded "clean" towel left on my bed and more long dark matted hair FELL OUT of the towel.
When I went out for whatever reason the guy on reception asked what room I was in. Not feeling completely comfortable with the question I didn't tell him. The lock on the bedroom door wasn't working so I had to jam the chair under the doorknob so no one could get in during the night. The coffee making facilities had some very questionable milk that appeared to turn stringy when hot water touched it.
The only thing worth complimenting was the comfort of the bed, although due to the lock not working I slept with one eye open anyway. I left without breakfast (hilariously they wanted an extra £7.50 for breakfast), judging by the state of the bathroom I wouldn't have wanted to eat there anyway. Terrible hotel, terrible value for money, stay in a travel lodge.
Good value hotel
I was very pleased to find such good value accommodation, yes it is basic but exactly what you would expect for the price.
Great location to base yourself from..Lovely welcome from the manageress, comfortable bed with pristine linen and towels.
Cheap and clean
The room was a little noisy from clubs and bars but appart from that it was basic but clean and ok
A very clean, comfortable hotel.
Small but nice
The room was very compact, but very clean.
Unfortunately you can hear everything that goes on in the corridor, as we were awoken at 3 but a group of drunks, shouting and running up and down the stairs.
Good location, below average rooms
The location is convenient for shopping area and promenade.
But the rooms were below standard. Furniture was dated but clean. Shower was good but grout was falling off between tiles. A window which requires two pieces to cover window only had one. Was not able to cover window properly. The curtains were so light it only dim the sun light coming into the room from the window. Lift did not feel secure so a lot of stairs to climb.
I know i stayed in a standard single room but the basics standards were just not met.
Good value, good sea view, shower good, room clean and comfortable. Recent update
My single room was on the 2nd floor with great sea view.
The room was small clean and comfortable and it looked like it had been recently updated. The en suit shower was good. Breakfast spot on. good value for money.
