No problems, but sorry, absolutely hate shared table.
And I think it is wrong to assume that it is somehow good for the soul and 'social'. I don't even talk to my husband in the mornings!!. And for that reason only, I wouldn't stay there again.
First class in all respects.
We can thoroughly recommend Tovey Lodge.
Tovey lodge is a beautiful house with good facilities.
Our room was impressive but there were a few cleaning issues. Dust and dirt behind the bathroom door, the shower head needed a good scrub, a used bar of soap was in the soap dish. Kettle still contained water and I had to swish round 3 times to get rid of scale and dirt in the bottom of it. Lovely bed, lovely views, lovely hosts.
Lovely stay, gracious hosts and fab facilities
Lovely accommodation for Brighton and the Downs
With a warm welcome from Roy, Diane and dogs Polly and Nala we knew we would enjoy our stay in their special home.
Diane's garden was beautifully maintained and added an extra pleasure to our week-end. Tovey Lodge was an excellent base for our visits to Brighton and walk along the Downs, both days started with excellent full English breakfasts and cheerful company of other guests.
Sadly, my visit was marred by an error on the hotel's part in diarising my booking.
On arriving, after a long day's work and travelling, I found my Saturday night booking had been written in their diary for the Sunday, instead - and that there were no rooms initially available. Thankfully, a room being used by a family member was offered, but would first have to be prepared. So, rather than being able to relax, after my tiring journey, I made myself scarce by heading into Brighton. Not ideal, but my hosts pulled out all the stops to accommodate me. By the time I returned, everything was ready. Just as well. I was exhausted. It was a lovely bed in a very nice room - in an idyllic location.
