About the hotel

Of all the hotels in Canterbury, few have as many stories to tell as this historic lodge, which has been providing a warm welcome to travellers for almost three centuries. With nine comfy rooms with en suite shower rooms and its own cosy pub serving a menu of hearty, freshly cooked food, it’s the perfect place to enjoy some rest and relaxation. Although there’s so much to see and do you won’t want to put your feet up for too long.

Canterbury is one of England’s most beautiful cities, and its jewel in the crown is Canterbury Cathedral, which is a pleasant six-minute stroll away. You can also explore the intriguing shops of King's Mile, take a ghost tour, visit Canterbury University or take a summer boat-trip along the River Stour. There’s plenty to keep you busy further afield in Kent, like wildlife spotting in Blean Woods or a day at the seaside in Herne Bay or Whitstable.

3 day break visiting Canterbury

We found the hotel on line and were delighted when we arrived.

The location was excellent, just near the Park & Ride. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy - it was cleaned each day of our stay. The dining area was attractive and service was friendly and efficient. Food was well cooked and presented. Continental breakfast was more than adequate.

Inn Keepers Lodge

Staying at this hotel was an absolute pleasure.

Before we left we were contacted by the manager who asked if we had any requests which we thought was a nice touch. Upon arrival after a nightmare journey we were met by a smiling face and were put at ease. The hotel staff were polite, smart, smiling. The food excellent and the room was lovely. A bonus is, the hotel is located next to the Park and Ride station so for 3.00 all day you can jump on a bus that takes you into the city of Canterbury and there is no need to take your car therefore no stress of parking in a city. If I had to pick fault my only gripe would be the water takes what seems an age to get hot in the shower and takes an age to drain out of the trap in the tray.
