Not bad at all
Good value and friendly staff.
My room was warm with basic provision and comfortable bed. No complaints so well done West Cliff Inn
Stuck in a time warp with no work appeared to have been done for a long time.
This was a last minute booking, done too hastily, and we arrived late at night after a 4 hour sea crossing.
If we had the time and energy, would have walked straight out again. The place looked dirty and neglected. The room smelt of damp and staleness. The bathroom was dirty, smelt, and due to fittings not been installed and sealed properly, resulted in much of the musty smell. Bed smelt, and not a pleasant night was spent. Breakfast was not served until 9am, but as we had paid for this, we decided to go for a walk in the morning, get a coffee somewhere(which was a challenge also, but finally found a pub that was just opening). Made our way back to the hotel for breakfast, and thank goodness we did decide to return. This was the one saving grace for the hotel. The breakfast was freshly cooked (a rare occurrence these days) was fabulous, and the staff serving were lovely.
For what was paid the service was very good, staff were friendly and efficient, the only thing that I can be picky about was there was a layer of limescale around the plug hole and there were a couple of someone else's socks hanging out from under the bed, otherwise was a very pleasant stay.
West Cliff Inn
Very friendly, happy, welcoming staff.
Excellent staff, satisfactory room, car parking.
Welcomed by excellent, friendly, staff on reception.
Room as expected. Not a place for light sleepers fairly noisy but if you can get over this, more than outweighed by the welcome and service at breakfast. A good location to access the south coast.
West Cliff Inn
Stayed overnight on a Saturday.
Booked in at 15.30 by very friendly girl on reception directed to our room and advised of breakfast times. Room quite big, nice size bed and comfy arm chair plenty of wardrobe space, hair dryer and iron with board. Large wall mounted TV. Bathroom good size shower hit and miss with hot water but very clean as was room. Soap and shampoo complementary. Tea and coffee making facilities ,but milk tasted off. Good breakfast help yourself to cereals and juice waitress service for main breakfast and tea and coffee, good size portions on full English and very tasty. Hotel close to beach and town.

Good location, friendly staff.
Rooms clean. However noisy on Saturday night. This might have just been a drunk resident and a one off but shouting went on for some time without hotel staff interference.
Great budget hotel
A great little hotel a couple of minutes walk from the beach, you could even just about see the sea from our room.
Very friendly staff and everything you would want from a budget hotel. Comfy bed and a very powerful shower. My only minor quibble would be that the sausages with the cooked breakfast were chipolatas rather than, what I'd consider, proper meaty sausages.
Quiet and relaxing
Good sized clean and comfortable room, nice shower, bed was big and comfortable, but was in fact 2 singles pushed together which wasn't a problem.
Not much light in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. TV set didn't have BBC for some reason, and the digital reception kept breaking up on most channels. Breakfast starts at 9 am on Sunday which might be a bit late for some. Good to have dedicated parking round the back.
