The Hop Inn

About the previous visit was over 6 yrs ago, but I remembered this place, and it was just as good 2nd time around.

Checking in on a busy Saturday was always going to be tough, but they made it seem simple, and we went straight to our room which was great, then straight out for some dinner into town which is only short walk, but coming back was up quite steep hill, although I guess they is probably a different route. Very close to the coast if that's what you're looking for, good breakfast, and free parking, what more could you ask for, I'm sure will be back again.

Overnight stay at The Hop Inn

We booked this room as it's close to the Bournemouth international Centre where we were seeing a band.

The welcome from the staff at the bar was friendly and parking outside wasn't a big problem. The room itself was very spacious and had an ensuite. Plenty of hanging space for clothes in room on a clothes rail and also TV provided. There was a kettle and 2 cups along with tea bags and coffee and sugar sachets as well as milk. We had a very good nights sleep in the very large bed and cant fault the comfort of that. In the morning we decided to have a coffee to wake us up. It was undoubtedly the worst tasting coffee that I have ever tasted. It seems quite mean to skimp on details like that as we aren't overly fussy about things like that, it was truly awful. We then both took turns on using the shower in the ensuite. The water pressure was fine but we couldn't get the water to a decent temperature despite both of us trying. Luke warm at best. We had breakfast as part of the deal and it was pretty good although again cheap sausages let it down. The coffee in the food area downstairs was also pretty poor. We could see a filter coffee machine on bar but clearly not being used. Instant coffee in a bowl by hot water supply and cups instead. This could have been a fantastic review. Just let down by a few minor things that are easily rectified. On the whole a good place just in need of a few tweaks here and there. And we would probably use again.
