Pub not hotel
This is a pub not a hotel and it's a bit like Faulty Towers.
Our room, room 2, was okay, very spacious but the lighting was terrible. I struggled to do my make-up before going out in the evening and ended up using the reading lamp. My sister and her husband were in room 3 and you could just about walk round the bed. The lighting in there was also terrible made worse by the sludge coloured walls!. The plug socket was almost on the ceiling so when she plugged her phone in, it swung in the air!. This was made worse as they paid £10 more than us!. Also the access to the rooms was up two flights of a narrow spiral staircase which was not in the description!!!
Friendly, helpful staff.
Restaurant area was really nice, recently updated and good food too. Bedroom desperately needed re decorating, very old and tired looking. Low eaves so had to bend over a lot to use sink, mirrors etc. Mattress terrible...springs creaked every time I turned over. Heating not working but they did put an electric heater in there for us so we did stay nice and warm. Had to leave it on all night since the duvet was quite thin.
