Milton Hill Hotel

1970s style pebble dash annex with wood chip style interior.

Not a good look or feel for a country house. Bedrooms in this location are small. Had chipped bath and finger prints everywhere. It felt dirty. Food was pleasant and manager was helpful when we asked to be moved. We were moved to a room in the main house for an extra £35 per night, however, we negotiated this down to £25 per night

The new room lost hot water prior to going out to dinner so the hotel said they would refund the money. When we went to check out there was no authorised management working to be able to perform the refund. Overall, for the price of £108 per night room only, the experience was highly disappointing and not what we expected when we booked this romantic weekend accommodation.

Fit for purpose

The room, unusually, was exactly as pictured.

There was nothing glamorous or special about the room but the room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. It should be pointed out that the room was pretty small so there wasn't enough room to really spread out stuff out. The bathroom was OK. The only challenging part of the room was finding the kettle which was hidden in a cupboard directly behind the door.

Nice place to stay not too near Oxford City Centre

Great hotel.

Nice staff. Comfy room. Set in lovely grounds. Food was very good. Bit cut off from Oxford centre if you wish to leave the car behind and explore. Maybe that's not a bad thing?

A nice hotel in lovely setting

The hotel and it's leisure facilities were great.

The room was a little small and the view wasn't up to much but it was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent quality and good value for money.

Really nice stay

This place is very nice.

The room was good, the bed was very comfortable. The only thing that let it down was the lack of air con. It was a very mild evening and even with the windows open it was stuffy. The staff are very helpful.

Room has supposed to be an executive room, tiny room, only roof windows very stuffy

Room was tiny if this was executive I felt sorry for others, shower would not drain away fast enough, beneath the drain cover blocked with hair cleaned some time never....

the hotel was full and with two weddings and other events a long wait for main course at dinner food was average, breakfast standard fare but not very warm or tasty. such a pity as we were only staying one night and the pictures and reviews looked so good grounds look very nice pity we could not see them as only had roof windows which were very high up my wife asked for assistance with opening the window, duty manager did not know how they worked.

Could be better

Driving up to the hotel it looks very grand, plenty of free parking in the hotel grounds.

Reception really has the wow factor, big grand staircase balcony right around, staff were polite and helpful. The first room we had was cold and dark my view was a brick wall, couldn't stay in there was so claustrophobic no natural day light what so ever. Went to reception they did find my another room eventually, this was on the second floor, much better light wise, although rooms need an update in my opinion. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the spa area and the free coffee stations dotted around the hotel.
