Comfort Hotel Reading West
We found this hotel to be fairly basic, but with very friendly and polite staff.
Rude manager, musty smelling room
We stayed at this hotel after going to reading festival on the Saturday - it was advertised at being 8 miles away from the festival which was a lie.
The hotel room smelt musty and damp and the shower was very weak and didn't stay at one temperature. In the morning the hotel manager was very rude to my partner , he had asked if he could buy a pint of orange juice to which he was charged £3.00 and she made him feel like he had really inconvenienced her and was quite rude. Later he decided that he wanted to have breakfast and asked if he could pay the remainder of £6 to make up the £9 it was for a breakfast (which included unlimited orange juice, which he had already payed for) another worker said she was sure it would be OK and encouraged my partner to help himself to the buffet while she double checked with the manager. Whilst my partner was helping himself the manager came out yelling at him and waving her arms about In a very rude and aggressive manner, embarrassing my partner in front of the other guests eating breakfast. My partner put the breakfast down and we promptly packed up and checked out. I am disgusted at this woman's behaviour at this hotel and I have never been treated so badly in my life
