I booked 2 double rooms for my husband and I and my Son and his Girlfriend.
We arrived about 13.20 and was told to wait as check-in 14.00pm. Check-in went smoothly and we were allocated our rooms. My room was barely bigger than my box room at home with a queen sized bed (not double) pushed up against the wall with little room to walk around . A space for hanging clothes was less than adequate and the bathroom was poor. As you walk in toilet on the right ( poor flush) sink directly in front of you (complete with hair) loose pedestal. The shower was very small but ok. No bath mat so floor very slippery when wet as tiled. The bed was comfortable but a queen not a double as booked. I spoke to reception about this and was given a key to another room but it was exactly the same. My Sons room was a double room so no complaints there.
The final nail in the coffin came after a lovely evening in the Arena when we got back to the hotel. My husband went outside for a cigarette with my son and his girlfriend and was told he couldn't come back in and go to the kids room. He had to explain I had booked 2 rooms and I was upstairs before they let me in.
The street noise was bad overnight with teens hanging about in front of the hotel. The only POSITIVE I can give is the hotels location - great for the underground and 15mins to the Arena and shops on foot.
Whole experience was horrible.
Firstly, keycard did not work, room was far too hot even with window open (a whole 6 inches). And a fan going the whole time that just moved the hot air around the room. Asked for a twin was given a double, for me and my 26 year old son, matress had seen better days, was so lumpy and saggy. Bathroom was a disgrace, broken tiles on the floor, mould in the shower. Website said free WiFi,when we asked for code was informed it was in fact £4 for WiFi, "we havent updated the website " was the excuse. Overall, even though it was only for 1 night, almost spoilt the wbole weekend for me, £120??. Not worth it
