50% would recommend it to a friend
The big positive was the location of the hotel in the centre of Buckingham and as we were using public transport this was a plus.
Our room was basic but clean unfortunately next to the heating machine which meant it was noisy, we had a dripping tap and issues with water temperature, our room was not cleaned or bed made up on the Sunday night, breakfast on the Sunday was cold, no croissants as promised on the menu, card machine not working on our leaving day, wifi erratic. Think the main problem was not enough staff on duty especially in the morning and have to say as another positive the staff were friendly. Next time we'll head for Villiers.
Booked for one night but ended up staying entire weekend, its perfectly situated, great atmosphere, staff were lovely.
Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
OK but with some issues
Generally my stay was fine.
My room was above the kitchen, and this meant that during service my room smelt of whatever was being cooked. The shower is good, but the shower curtain isn't weighted so you end up fighting with it. There is also a large amount of work going on, as they are changing ownership.
WIFI does not work.
I could not connect any one during this time.
A Good Experience
I've stayed here previously and I was not very impressed , however this time it was a different room a different part of the building and was 100% better.
There was air conditioning which was lovely and the breakfast second to none. Parking stilll not brilliant but there is more within a short walking distance. The place appears to be going through a refurbishment which looks good. I would stay again but pay for a double room .Only downside was the stairs leading to the room were steep and Ok for me but wouldn't be happy if say my mother was staying. However pleanty other rooms.
one night stop over
After traveling back from a long journey I was really looking forward to crashing out in bed for a good night's sleep.
The good bits , are the staff were good and helpful, the room tidy and a great shower. The not so God bits are , finding a space to park , noise from the pub , noise from the road and the ceiling in the room needed repair . I was happy for what it cost me for the location and convenience only.
Useful venue to stay, clean and friendly staff.
Very creaky floorboards
Disappointed at bar
Arrived back at midnight after a curry .
Told that we couldn't have a nightcap as the bar was closed even to residents. .
Don't have high hopes!
We have stayed 2 years in a row, it's reasonable in price, food is ok.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Ok, the car park needs a lot of attention, and allocated parking for hotel guests. Room 11, celing needs attention as does the wall to exterior, and could do with a new coat of paint on all wall. A twin room, beds too close together we just moved things around, the beds are 3/4 not standard singles but comfy enough, extra pillows needed though. Also floor boards are loose you could bounce on it. And room 10, you can hear there floor boards creak and the TV must back on to the wall where the bed headboard is. It's a old building, so for the price don't expect to much. Staff are excellent!
White Hart Inn by Good Night Inns
Room was clean, however previous occupant's luggage were left in the room when we were handed the keys.
Room however was very clean no remote for the tele which was a niggle, breakfast was OK a bit dry as the plates were very hot but passable, we visited the local area to return at 11.pm and when we requested a last drink as a night cap were refused as we were a couple of minuets beyond 11.pm even though someone else was being served and we were very sensible house guests.
