Great traditonal hotel
This is a fantastic hotel.
My room had a really contemporary feel about is and was lovely and warm when I entered considering it was so cold outside. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The evening meain the restaurant was delightful and staff were really friendly and polite.
Overall everything was fine with our stay.
My only comment would be that the windows in Room 11 could have been cleaned. Everything else was very pleasant.
Character and atmosphere
Very nice place to stay with an excellent breakfast and very friendly staff.
Spoiled by late night noise
After a return trip to Dover visiting family we returned to room at 11pm planning to get some sleep.Greeted by loudest music experienced outside a music concert in the room directly beneath our bedroom. No prior warning & this went on to midnight.Unable to hear oneself think let alone read, watch TV or even SLEEP!.
Even after music stopped it was really noisy with people still in the pub and in the street outside. Finally got to sleep at 12.45 only to be woken by the piercing scream of a fire alarm at 3.45am. After a few minutes of venturing outside the room in pyjamas trying to find out if life and limb were at risk - the alarm was turned off by whom I have no idea. Whilst I appreciate there is a need for fire alarms, I would expect a member of the hotel staff to at least confirm to guests that this is a false alarm but we were left to our own devices. Have stayed here before in an annex room which was much better. The pub is lovely and breakfast fine but will not stay there again as it wasn't worth the price paid. Disappointed!
Great place to stay
Lovely room at a great price.
The breakfast was fantastic and the staff couldn't do more. Thank you.
Nice part of the countryside.
A night in Wendover
I met up with a colleague and had a night out in Wendover.
The Red Lion is an ideal venue to stay with a good sized car park and comfortable bedrooms. The bar has a good selection of beers and the bar menu has a good offering of meals. I have stayed at The Red Lion on several occasions and would definitely recommend it to others.
A lovely old pub that had been modernised, but in keeping with it's character.
The room was perfect for out one night stay and breakfast was good.
Lovely quaint hotel
Lovely clean spacious room.......aerial connection for TV was atrocious and channel was stuttering......breakfast was delicious and piping hot as freshly cooked
Front desk service was excellent but the rooms can do with the planned renovation.
