Great hotel shame sky bar is closed to guests
We had a lovely one night stay here, staff were friendly, rooms comfortable, breakfast good.
However the specific reason I chose this Hotel was for the views from the Sky Bar over the castle. We had a long drive to Edinburgh and on arrival we had planned to take drinks and supper over looking the Castle . Pictures of the Sky Bar feature heavily in hotel literature and the late rooms website but at no time did I read that it's only used for events and not actually open to hotel guests. This is deceptive but it's also a big missed opportunity on behalf of the hotel. A bar with a view like this should be open for busienss not locked up and closed As this is effectively a function room not a bar open to hotel guests the picture should be removed from the laterooms website as its misleading and not a facility which is generally available to hotel guests
