Great place to unwind

Initially I thought this hotel was quite dark but it is a lot brighter than it seems and the room for breakfast is lovely.

It is a friendly hotel with helpful staff and its position on the Great Orme provides stunning views. Quiet and dark away from the main Promenade it is within easy reach of a number of good restaurants. It ceratinly is on my list of places to revisit although if you want a 5Star hub of excitement this is not the place for you.

Nice location BUT beware!!!!!

First of all let me say that the location, the furnishings, the food & the staff were all good.

....BUT.... The manager of this hotel is hopeless!!. & health & safety is obviously a complete mystery to him. My partner was taking a bath & reached up to the shelf to get some shampoo at which point the shelf tilted sending a fancy bottle of cotton wool crashing down on to the side of the bath, smashing everywhere & giving my partner some deep lacerations to her legs, arms & neck. The ordinary staff were helpful & came to clean up the mess & see if they could help. However when I went to see the owner/manager for a dressing from his first aid kit & some antiseptic cream he first produced cotton wool & also sent up 10mins later some Claire's after care lotion for piercings. When asked for some tweezers to pick any remaining glass out he produced a pair of scissors!. The shelf was found to be loose & Poi asked the lady to remove it altogether which she duly did. The resulting wounds will take quite a while to heal & could leave permanent scars. I dread to think what would have happened if it had been a young child in the bath with its face lower down. We were offered £30 of the £81 we paid as a refund but personally I think we should have been fully refunded but that's a side issue. The fact is this man should not be running a hotel!. He is apparently an Ex doctor (which judging by his handling of this situation) beggars belief!!. He pretty much stayed away from the situation & let his staff deal with it. This hotel & it's staff deserve better, like an owner that's quite cavalier in his attitude to safety of his guests & doesn't even have a trained first aider which you would have thought was a prerequisite in a place where you're dealing with the public.Needless to say we won't be going back. The whole experience has left my partner traumatised & possibly scarred. I've seen other reviews since we stayed there saying the heath & safety would have a field day there. Now I can see why!!!
