The bartender was only interrested in our payment but didn't explain anything.
He showed us our room though before paying, on our request. Therefore a 2. By leaving the hotel an hour later we found the entrance (throught the pub) locked with a keylock. We weren't informed. It took a while before we discovered the entrance to the hotel is on a firewayescape-route to the backyard of the pub. We had to hand in the keys, we found out, in a letterbox at the entrance of the way out. Breakfast consisted to our surprise of one type of cereals and pasteurized milk in the fridge, a waterkettle and some tea and coffee & juice, being left on the room. The beds were comfortable, but they didnt look all that clean. The place needed cleaning up, lots of dust in the cupboard and dirt in the corners in the bathroom. I looked forward in staying at a pub-hotel, yet we didn't feel welcome , not even for a drink. A plus for smokers though: there is a quite nice terras in the backyard and wifi is available. Apparently all was organised with the idea to 'keep contact with the guests to the minimum. A shame. Place and location has potential for a nicer stay!.
The room was small and grotty.
The window didn't close properly, and at night the traffic on the road outside was like (not) sleeping next to a racetrack, where the emergency services joined the racers.
