One night stay
Room was comfortable.
Shower was blocked.
When we settled at breakfast we learned that they had charged my card for both rooms, unlike the usual practice of charging upon settlement after arrival, inconveniencing our friend to pay for his own room separately.
Not a big thing, but certainly distasteful.
Very clean and friendly hotel.
Generous room size. Straightforward breakfast. Good local transport connections into town and the airport. The multiple room size meant this worked out as good value for money for a group of colleagues staying in Edinburgh.
Corstorphine Lodge Hotel
A handy option.
Only stayed one night after rugby international at Murrayfield, which is about 15minutes walk away.
The en-suite room was fine, but I couldn't get the electric shower working properly as there were no instructions. The excellent cooked breakfast was freshly prepared to order, rather than the usual buffet style in most hotels. There were cereal & continental options available too. The main road outside was not intrusive for traffic noise, and there are frequent buses into the city centre. Overall a good choice for our needs. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
The hotel staff were wonderful and the location was great for me.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby within walking distance.
Very clean hotel with good customer service
The room was very clean but the blinds at the window were broken.
This was a shame because otherwise the room was very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was plentiful but nothing special. The 'continental' breakfast was extremely disappointing. No cheese. No cold meat. How is this a continental breakfast. Just a few cereals, cheap sliced bread, a croissant in cellophane and a yogurt. The hotel needs to look at getting gin some fresh bread every morning and a selection of cheese and meats. This would really improve the breakfast and make the bed and breakfast experience much more pleasant.
Quiet, practical, ideally situated for a very early airport departure without having to pay inflated "near airport" prices, diect and easy bus access into the town centre.
Friendly welcoming staff, free wifi, A BATH!!. as well as an excellent shower and a mega-comfy bed. Highly recommended by an extremely seasoned traveller.
Corstorphine Lodge Hotel
Very nice well run hotel within a bus ride of Edinburgh Centre.
Better than I expected
I booked the accommodation at the last minute and was a bit bothered by the mixed reviews.
I was a bit confused by the 2 buildings next door to each other with similar names and not knowing which one to check in at. A number of steps up to the door, a bit difficult for me at the moment with suitcase and crutches but I didn't check this out beforehand. Accommodation wise, I had a lovely large room with a gorgeous polished floor and proper dark wood furniture, not shoddy flat pack stuff. The room could do with rearranging so the tv is not sideways on. Room was a little cold, had to put radiators on, curtains desperately need re hanging. . No problems at all with the staff, all helpful and polite. I just wish fellow guests would not shout and bang around after midnight, how rude. . Warm comfy bed and a good nights sleep once the neighbours settled. Good filling breakfast. All I can say is that this hotel needs a couple of tweaks to room layout and finishing touches and it will be really good.
