I am sorry that your stay with us was not to your liking, but I am disappointed that you did not think to come to us at the outset when we could have dealt with your complaints then and there. For instance – every bed in every room has fresh linen straight from the laundry. Hairs in the bed could only have come from the person making the bed. If you thought the bed had been previously slept in, we could have changed the linen in your presence. Extra blankets are provided in every room and there was absolutely no ulterior motive in telling you where they were, as we tell each new guest. The room has two radiators and we have a fully functioning heating system. We could have checked that the radiators had not been turned off by a previous guest as they are working fine now. We have to
throw some doubt on your comment of ants in the shower room. The shower room does not have an external wall for ants to get in, and there is no sign of any insect activity there or in the adjoining shower room for the next room and which shares plumbing. In fact we do not even have ants in the garden. After a long hard season we accept that the décor in the room was not up to scratch but we have to wait to the off season to re-decorate. The room in question was the first on the list and has been re-papered since your visit. Of particular disappointment was the comment on cleanliness of the room as this is an aspect of our house that we are proud of, and most guests comment on the high level of our housekeeping. Again, we are sorry that your stay was not the best, and again we would urge you to make any complaints known at the time when both you and us could have been happier.
