Friendly, clean but could do better on breakfast
The room was very clean, the welcome warm.
Despite booking the room for 2 people, on looking round the room there were only pillows for 1, and only towels for 1 in the bathroom. However, I was impressed when our hostess returned without being asked with more without being asked. We were asked if we'd like breakfast the next morning: we thought it would be easier than finding something in Bracknell, a town neither of us had visited before (and we won't rush back!).
We also mentioned that the bathroom door was sticking - they did seem to be aware of the problem, but had done nothing to fix it. The bathroom door was very difficult to open - particularly from the inside, and particularly with arthritic hands so if anyone gets room 16, beware. Breakfast: Not keen on the choice of cereal, so skipped that. Juice was ok, fried breakfast: limited. Because tomatoes and mushrooms weren't available, I ended up paying £7.50 for bacon, egg and coffee. The room was also very noisy - being at the front and on a main road, there was a lot of traffic noise - helpfully muffled by the double glazing but I imagine on a warmer night and with the window open it really would be excessive.
Ascott Week - Expensive
In fairness to the owner he did apologise for the over inflated price (£130 vs typically £50) due to Royal Ascott being on.
Although the room didn't have en-suite it did have a private bathroom and both rooms were of a good standard. Breakfast was very good.
