Hotel was recommended by a family member from a previous visit.
Although a Victorian era hotel, room was fresh modern refurbishment but still with loads of Highland character and very comfortable indeed. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent in both choice and traditional Scottish content, with very generous helpings. Live music from very talented accordian player in the bar was very entertaining, and appealed particularly to the many overseas guests staying at the hotel.
Love this place.
It is like a "traditional" hotel and lounge, compared to the "trendy" type of places elsewhere in Aviemore. Entertainment on each night we were there, the atmosphere was like New Year with everyone enjoying the music acts. I presume most of the people were local, who seem to flock to this bar. Breakfast great, everything seemed good quality produce. Didn't have a meal this time as it is so popular, the dining areas were packed and you couldn't book a table as far as I know. Last time though, had a lovely meal, no complaints. Excellent location on main street across from train station.
