I'm afraid the hotel is very tired, and in desperate need of refurbishment
Tired hotel in prime location
Hotel smelled of damp and general fustiness.
Decor very dreary and dark. Room good size, comfortable, but very noisy (floorboards squeaked, doors slammed all along corridor, plumbing resounded when used). Paintwork mouldy and flaking in parts, missing tiles in bathroom, replaced tiles mis-matched. Lounge full of very dated and uncomfortable furniture. Do not understand why imprint of credit card taken on arrival had to be for £20 more than actual price of room - doesn't make for a great greeting. Arrived at 1600 and corridor still had dirty linen and rubbish bags stacked along it. Good breakfast. Long check-out queue.
