Clean but needs improvement in a lot of areas
On arriving to the lodge I was not happy about the set up, you have to go through a pub filled with locals to check in at the desk.
To pay by card, you had to access the machine that was unable to move from behind a Christmas tree. The room was clean and substantial enough for 1 night. However the beds has stains on the frame and the cold tap continuously leaked. My guest and myself went out to a concert at the NEC and so were late returning to the lodge. There was a large party at the club and again you have to walk through this to the rooms, or so we thought. We found the door to be locked and no info for how to access your room, nobody had informed us of this. Eventually the DJ told us a different door to use. We returned to our room to find the noise from the club unbearable to sleep through. It was so loud and did not stop until around 1AM. The next morning we knew the lodge did breakfast so went to get this, again no information to say this would be in the lounge and where the lounge was. We ordered and the breakfast was fine, good food for the cheap price. However there was little staff around so we ended up waiting a long time to pay for our food. This problem happened again when we wanted to check out. No information as to what time you check out and where. So we returned to the lounge as this is where the only staff were. I waited for a good 10-15 minutes to return the key but no staff appeared so I ended up throwing it behind the bar as I was fed up with waiting. To conclude, also the car park is a mess, huge holes that will damage your car if you do not crawl over them. It is also just a rough gravel car park with no markings, everyone parked wherever and I ended up being blocked in and made it very difficult to navigate out of where I was parked.
