The floors boards all creaked and were uneven.
The bed was hard and had lumps in the mattress. We could hardly see out of the windows and they were filthy inside and out. There was only trees up close to the windows so very little light came in. We were awoken before 7 am due to the heating boiler making such a noise just outside the window. The carpet up the main stair was threadbare. We had to move tables at breakfast due to a leaky roof. No one offered to show us to our room, we were left to carry our luggage and try to find the room through several corridors, like a maze.

We arrived at the Genmorag hotel at 1.55pm as we approached the reception desk to check in, we were told by the reception lady that we have room 21 and it wasn't ready and wouldn't be ready until at least 4pm.
I asked if there was anything she could do and she said no, she said something about late departures had made the room cleaning late. I was extremely upset as we were to meet friends in town for 3pm and we couldn't get into the room to get changed and charge our phones which was a real pain as my partners phone was totally out of battery. I said we would come back at 4pm, as I booked through LateRooms. I went out to the car to call LateRooms to complain. I told my partner to go to the bar and order a refreshment for us, as we had worked in the morning from 5am and left work to come straight here as the complaint above bar was closed until 4pm so couldn't get a refreshments. I explained everything above to the LateRooms lady on the phone, she said she would contact the hotel and call me back. 10 mins later of sitting in the car I received a call from LateRooms stating the rooms wouldn't be ready until at least 4pm, and all the hotel offered me was to sit in the lounge and they would give me a tea and a biscuit. I needed changed and to charge our phones and to be in Dunoon town for 3pm to meet our friends not tea and a biscuit, I was told this as if it was a real treat!. I declined the offer. No-one could or would help us. so we had no other choice than to go and meet our friends in our work clothes and not even had a shower.
We came back around 5pm to collect our keys, got in and got changed, no apologies about the delay.
We got changed and came back out not sure exact time around 6, at this point my car was blocked in by two buses, so I proceeded to reverse and try and find a way out and one of the buses beeped there horn at me!. They blocked us all in at reception and they beep there horn at me. Eventually they start to reverse the two coaches back up so I cant get out eventually!. The bedroom had two single beds a 9" flat tv (tiny) fuzzy screen only 3 channels that worked bb2,itv and channel 4. In the morning at 7am again woken by floorboards above constantly creaking. We got up ready straight downstairs for breakfast, went to get orange juice jugs were empty apart from grapefruit. I found under the glasses on the trolley cartons of juice so I pored some orange juice from that. Our breakfast arrived parts were cold like fried bread and cold cooked tomato. Went to get tea - none - 5mins later man arrives with tea - poured tea and then there was no milk pots in the basket. That did it for us we got up and left. Place was a shambles from start to finish. Ruined our Cowal games which should of been a day of fun, but had to leave friends to come home at 5pm to get change and then go back out being locked in the car park, return to relax and have a good night sleep didn't happen. We payed £85 for this service, we didn't get in our room until late and they didn't even offer a late departure, not that it would of been any use as the floorboards made sure of this. Do not use this hotel!
