Nothing 4* about it
This is not a 4* hotel.
My room was the smallest ive ever stayed in. The plughole in shower was blocked, to point of shower tray nearly over flowing. The breakfast and wifi were sub-standard. I rarely write reviews, the fact that this stay has prompted me to write one says it all. Won't be staying here again.
Great hotel and very helpful staff
Nice hotel in great location just a few minutes walk from Hyde Park.
The hotel seems to put comfort of the guests as a priority. Our room was a large family room with a number of comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful and accommodating which enhanced our visit.
Nice accommodation but a few booking issues
I arrived quite late on and the hotel had no record of my reservation despite me having the confirmation by email on my phone.
This took over half an hour to resolve. I then attempted the pay on card but the card machine couldn't connect to take the payment meaning I had to walk to the nearest cash machine at midnight to pay by cash. The whole check-in process took close to an hour due to these problems. The person at the reception desk did everything they could but I think they were let down by the booking system.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Duke of Leinster, staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful.
Bedroom we thought was on a slight slope, but after two days found out it was the bed, the casters from the top end had been removed for some unknown reason, also a very tiny lift, which we only used twice as first time was scary enough. Breakfast was not as bad as some reviews I had read.
Brilliant service at reception - everyone is amazingly friendly and efficient (it was genuinely one of the best reception areas people-wise that I have ever come across).
Simple room - that's all we needed - everything was great!
A Welcoming Smile
I don't know about you, but if, on walking into a building for the first time after a long journey, you are met with a genuinely warm and welcoming smile - then you are bound to feel better.
The size of a lobby means little to me. The size of the welcome means more. Compared with many other hotels - in this rather up-market part of town, the Duke of Leinster lacks a little style and substance. There are dozens and dozens displaying more art, aesthetics and architecture. (And certainly with far better lifts and dining areas). But if you need a comfortable bed for the night, a good breakfast and a friendly approach to life, all at a reasonable price, then you could do much worse than this place.
A very enjoyable stay
Despite the room being small it was clean and comfortable.
The staff were very polite and helpful, would stay here again.
nice Hotel Breakfast needs more work
The hotel was good room clean with all you need but the breakfast was very poor small room and poor quality and choice of hot food
At £78 for a double, great value
a comfortable stay in great location
Small cramped hotel room, very basic but clean
