On arrival having inspected the room, we found it to be unsatisfactory.
Dirty toilet, soiled bed sheets, mattress cover and mattress (blood and urine stained. Have photos. Severe lack of house keeping as ledges and tops of doors pictures wall hangings were covered in dust. Carpet marked stained and in need of cleaning, broken window blind. We agreed to a room change, but although bed linen was clean we had to ask for pillow protectors and clean pillow cases, and again severe lack of housekeeping, with dirty mugs scale in kettle, dust etc. The hotel is generally run down with fixtures and fittings carpets and furniture in common parts looking tired and out of date. Could be a super hotel if MG invest and refurbish, get new housekeeping with proper controls and checks. Will be complaining to MG.£
The Manor Hotel
We have stayed at this hotel on 6 or 7 occasions over the last 3 years, solely for the fact that our daughter lives 100 metres away.
It is convenient too for hopping on the train to London. The Manor claim to be a 4* hotel, but in reality it is only a 2 or 3 star.
hot shabby shoebox of a room - shower so dirty with limescale, mould and enamel chips it was unusabl
There was no apology from reception when i complained.
Just told he would let housekeeping. Also the TV did not work well with a blurred picture and loud buzzing noise. As i had booked through Laterooms he said he was not authorised to give any reduction as compensation. Very dismissive. Hotel description on site is very misleading. An unpleasant experience all round.
Breakfast was awful
Stayed 12th November.....woken at 6 Sunday morning by bottles being thrown in recycling bin by hotel staff.
Went down for breakfast and not shown where snything was, selections we made from the menu were not available and so opted for a safe bet of scrambled egg on toast. When it finally arrived Ive seen rabbit drippings that looked more appetising. Over cooked, hard and dry. One of the other guests had complained about there poached eggs being undercooked?. Maybe an off day. Spoke to reception manager on checkout and was told would be contacted regarding my complaints. Still waiting for phone call!!
Manor hotel- Datchet
Reasonable price for area, however nothing like web site photos.
Great staff, great food but rooms are old, bulbs not working, poor condition of decor and bathrooms.Premier inn much more hygenic for a stay.
Great location and a nice property but the room was a disappointment - hadn't been freshly cleaned, window blind didn't work, bedside lights didn't work, shower room extractor fan noisy.
Response next morning unhelpful - "you should have said before now". I'd got back late but that fell on deaf ears, presumably because my comments weren't unusual. Don't often post reviews but in this case feels appropriate to warn others expecting a better experience, hopefully the property owners may take this on board too...
Fine room but a few issues
Overall the room was ok.
We stayed one night in the cheapest room- however that was still a steep price. The toilet made a compression sound about every twenty minutes that shook the room and our internet stopped working (and we could not connect after that) about two hours into our stay. The bed could use an upgrade as it was very lumpy and uncomfortable. Black out curtains were great though.
Hotel was not very clean, but staff were good changing room the man sevring breakfast was fantastic friendly & helpful.
The Manor Hotel
Friendly staff, small but lovely room, very clean.
Located in a beautiful historic building. It was perfect for our purposes!
The Manor Hotel
Great check in and support for tv problem.
Aerial wire out of tv and reception guy was great help. Made my stay great and avoided a very unhappy customer. I have already rebooked.
