room ok but room itself needs revamping and updating, furniture ripped, grout in bathroom grotty.
Overall our stay was very enjoyable , staff were very helpful and welcoming, we stayed in a executive suite, bed was comfy and the room was large, however the decor was tired, furniture in room was torn and tatty, grout in the bathroom needs replacing , in our opinion the rooms themselves are what let this hotel down, a revamp, redecorate and replace furniture, is all that is needed to make this hotel one that we would return to, as it is now it is not a memorable one and one we will be returning to.

We enjoyed our stay very much.
Thank you .
Please don't let any negative views put you off, this is a charming very old coach house with history, if you expect ultra modern then go to a city.
This was a one night stay for us, lovely place especially by the river, lots of quaint shops, unfortunately our day to browse was a Sunday, most were closed but would love to go back and have day there. Room was totally fine, very clean, had everything we needed. Staff were exceptional, the service was friendly, polite and willing and wanting to please, we opted for a bar meal which was nice, good plate full, we also had breakfast which gave you a lot of choice and you could eat what you wanted really, but we behaved and chose the dales breakfast, very nice. I would definately stay again, ideal if your going to the Ripon races as its only a short journey away by car, taxi or the local shuttle bus, it's a good place to be if you want to visit surrounding towns and villages, peaceful and relaxing.
As always this hotel provides a great base for our visit to the area.
The rooms this time were a bit pokey and rather tired looking but this is still a great friendly hotel and we are planning our next stay.
Great Location and Good Value
Never been to Boroughbridge before but lovely setting with river nearby.
Hotel was good place to stayover. Not far from A1 so ticked all my boxes
I am disabled and there wasn't enough room for my wheelchair to go through bathroom door or any grab rails in bathroom.
The booking wasn't right, but that wasn't hotels fault although one member of staff was less than helpful on reception, two others were fantastic and went an extra mile. that is why I scored down on that.

Another comfortable stay.
Apart from the heat in the room even with window open, which i could do as i was on first floor.
Well worth a visit
My compliments to the chef as the food was excellent.
The service was very good.
A short break in an area that has so much to see and visit
A traditional old fashioned hotel in a quiet village, that made places like York, Harrogate and Fountains Abbey so accessible.
The hotel had character, unlike so many of the modern hotels. The rooms were OK but the bed was a little small for my husband, I understand that other sizes are available but I am not sure how you would get one through booking agencies. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights and the food was excellent, but be prepared to wait as it is all freshly cooked to order and well worth the wait
Very good nice and clean
