Great long weekend

The venue is lovely and the grounds are beautiful.

I rang reception several times 1 day whilst we were out, holding for 5 minutes each time, and they never picked up. The receptionist was very dismissive when I told her. The waitress at dinner was very offhand and didn't apologise when she forgot my drinks order. She ruined our evening but we only got a free drink when I complained to the manager, rather than a free meal.

Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club

Lovely setting and a good base to visit local attractions.

All staff were really nice and could not have been more helpful.

Not impressed with inside the hotel.

Breath taking from the outside. Never witnessed so much

Dust. Windows inside leisure facilities very dirty. Lockers dropping to bits. Could not close locker. Very old and dirty. Hotel needs a complete face lift. First time stayed the night. Very disappointing. 12 plus years ago previous visit. Interior amazing then. Probably never changed.

Good but not really up to the price tag

Hotel badly needs renovating.

Some parts are nice but others are not, eg spa changing rooms which were like my local council swimming pool. Staff were lovely but they are let down by the accommodation quality. Premium price but not premium rooms or spa facilities.

Two days stay at Linden Hall Hotel

The best thing about our stay was the friendliness of the staff.

They were professional, helpful and cheerful. They are a credit to the Hotel.

Overnight stop.

Good for an overnight stay.

Room in need of updating - think we were allocated a room suitable for disabled visitor. Fitting and fixtures could benefit from renewing. Food in attached stables bar reasonably priced - breakfast in main hotel good.

Creaky old building

The rooms were very noisy being an old building, the floors creaked, windows didn't open.

Nice building for photographs. The food was too expensive for what was served, though the pub food is far better than the restaurant. The Jacuzzi did not work and the ceilings in the pool were falling in.

Golf break at Linden Hall

The Hotel was as usual excellent.

We made use of the pool and jacuzzi and steam room and all were excellent. The hotel has a friendly, county-house feel and it makes for a very comfortable stay. However, the food in the main dining room let it down. We only had breakfast as we ate in the Linden Pub in the evening but the sevice and the food in the main hotel were not up to standard. We ordered standard english breakfast but waited 30 mins for it to arrive and the bacon was dry as was the tomato and the order was incomplete and the dining room was not busy and there were 4 staff waiting on.
