Worst hotel experience of my life.
£99 per night for what was basically a cell 6ft x 6ft.
You get what you pay for
I booked this hotel as the price was the best I could find for a short break with my son.
The receptionist was friendly enough any gave us our keys no problem. The room was down stairs and was compact. The toilet was even more compact but as we where there for a short stay it was fine. The following morning when we where tidying up and getting ready to leave we found paperwork from previous tenants behind the bed, not good. The breakfast was cereal and toast with tea or coffee. The dining room was more like a staff canteen. The location was superb. We saw everything we wanted to see. We walked 35 miles in the four days we where down. I summary I didn't pay for the Ritz and didn't get it but it was good enough for what I wanted. Would I go again. Yes. It served its purpose and location was ideal.
Budget hotel in Central London
Pretty much what I expected from a budget hotel within a 10 minute walk of Victoria Station.
The single room was a box with en-suite facilities in a cupboard and the furnishings were basic; it had obviously been much used and was quite tired. On the plus side it was cheap for London (I.e. about the same cost as a 4-star room anywhere else). Breakfast was self-service cereal, bread (toaster provided), fruit juice (with tiny glasses), tea and coffee (which were all very nice) and yogurt (which was not).
Our room was too hot.
We could hear a lot of noise from upstairs i.e. kids screaming and neighbours in their gardens. Bathroom was small and cramped and was a wet room which wet the whole floor.
I booked a single room as that is all i needed, but i wasn't really expecting it to be quite as small.
And the shower/toilet room was just too small, it was basically in a cupboard. It was far too small.
I opted for this hotel as it provided budget price accommodation and after reading other reviews decided 'I would give it a go' with my expectations appropriately managed.
Even though it is rated RAC 2-star there are basics I would expect. I run a 4-star B&B and whilst I appreciate I get a greater room rate I would have expected mattress and pillow protectors to be fitted (they are not expensive to buy), in fact I am surprise they get a rating without them. Dont stay and expect these you wont get them. I was a lone female travelling for business and was very surprised to be put in a basement room at the end of a corridor. The window did have bars fitted but the window didnt lock shut. This hotel clearly does not appreciate the need to ensure lone female travellers can access help easily (I travel a lof for business and for various reasons have been victim, twice, to people coming into my room at other hotels so I appreciate this is important). However it was late and I decided to take the risk. I had no problem paying for the wifi but do expect it to, as promised, last for the duration of my stay and not cut out before I woke up on the morning I checked out. This was rectified and in fairness the staff were all helpful; the housekeeping staff are doing a good job with a a very poor product. This is a very tired hotel, fairly clean but the drain in my room gave off a bad smell after I had used the shower. The breakfast is continental, do-it-yourself (which I dont mind) extremely basic with cheap ingredients. The chairs in the dining room are very badly stained and not ones you want to volunteer to sit on. It did me for the stay but I defintely wont go back. Being in the business I know this guest accommodation could, with a bit of effort, be so much better
You won't find better value.
FINE HOTEL ROOM FOR SHORT STAY
Small single room and tiny en-suite.
En-suite OK for me, but you might have a problem if you were a large person;
However, does have a window;
Everything very clean indeed,
I found the bed comfortable;
Appreciated heater in room (and it works);
Extra blankets provided, as requested, much appreciated;
Appreciated tea and coffee making facilities;
I would have liked an extra toilet roll rather just the one as no tissues provided. I just made it through. No lift on premises a big drawback for me as stairs steep and narrow with no handrail;
Long walk from Victoria coach station but there are bus stops near on either side of road but initially I
unable to locate stop at train station due to the on going roadworks there so had to walk;
Concierge were polite and helpful, taking my luggage hold-all up and down stairs for me with no fuss. All round I consider this room excellent for a short stay for the cost involved but perhaps for a younger more active person than myself.
Poor welcome and accommodation
The hotel is well located near the Pimlico station.
The hotel has such smàll rooms that it can not fit persons suffering claustrophobia or those with special needs. The hotel charges extra 5 £ for the wifi ( and is not free as written on the advertisement). I had to pay my whole stay at my arrival, leaving me no choice in case of unsatisfaction. The breakfast is basic (self service) and included in the price, it is served btw 7:30-7:40 and 9:00, with no possibilities to answer any demand !. I had a single room, in which the shower cabinet has terrible smells on the day of my arrival. On the 3rd day of my stay I had complain to the receptionist that my rooms' carpet was not vacuum cleaned. The concierge refused to check that matter and had rude replies, explucitly meaning that I was a liar !, my room's floor was left full of debris. I will not recommend this hotel because of their poor service, sens of hospitality and overall quality. Such kind of rooms 3-4m2 should be forbidden in hotels.
