Hallmark Hotel Bournemouth Carlton
The location was excellent, car parking was a bit of an issue with too many cars for the alloted amount of spaces.
The hotel was 4 star rated and it probably was at some stage in its life, but it is now looking tired and worn. Our hotel room was lovely but again tired and scruffy looking. The shower room and toilet were not good. We could not get into our room using the key cards as it wouldn't unlock. The staff were friendly and helpful, but they could not overcome the poor standard and lack of investment in the room decor. etc.
Not the experience I was expecting.
Very disappointing, shabby in places, never again
Tired outdated room, overpriced restaurant, cold buffet breakfast.
Tried to phone reception for an hour to book a table for dinner.
No one would answer the phone. Had to use my mobile to phone the hotel on an outside line, and it was answered immediately. Two dishes from the dinner menu were not available. My husband had the fish dish. Overcooked fragments of fish not a fillet as described. Buffet breakfast cold on both mornings of our stay. Dining room staff very nice and professional.
Very good hotel - but I had very noisy neighbours upstairs
The room was excellent - although when I booked one of the executive rooms with a sea view - I expected that sea view to be obtained from a balcony - not through a window.
Hotel reception staff were excellent and moved me to a room with a balcony and I could see the sea - just. My problem with my recent stay was that I had very noisy neighbours in the room above. They seemed to walk around the room - continuously - on their heels. If the hotel had told me they were looking after a herd of elephants for a few days I wouldn't have been surprised. My stay was utterly spoilt by these nuisance, noisy neighbours!
3 star not 4
Booked a Suite for £324 Shower head dirty, water pressure poor.
Toilet stained. Sink taps broken
Settee broken and old
Cheap box of chocolates, don't bother. Lights fused
Breakfast self serve
Quality of food poor, dry eggs, cheap juice, thin bread for toast
This hotel is not 4 star
Lovey View, Nice Large Room, Excellent Breakfast
Great location, stayed in executive double located in the Time Share block, nicely refurbished room but the corridors etc in the timeshare block are very tired.
No complaints, just expensive for 1 night.
The staff, food and facilities in the hotel are very good and the location is excellent with the pier and beach 5 minute walk away and the town centre a 10 minute stroll away.
The pool is very nice and we had the added bonus of having to our selves when we used it. The staff are very helpful and friendly, we only had breakfast but there was a lot of choice and of a high quality. We stayed in a family room which was huge with a massive super kid bed for us, the room could do with being re-decorated as could the hotel overall but having said that we would happily stay again.
Understaffed and poor staff management particularly at breakfast.
For a 4 star hotel this was completely unacceptable. I overheard guests talking about negative staff attitude when responding
At the bar not a clue how to run a bar in a 4 star hotel
Well located hotel within easy reach of beach, shops and restaurants although you need to be fit to manage the walk down to the beach.
Our room with a sea view was great and our only reservation was the lack of water pressure in the shower and basin which was down to a dribble. Only used the restaurant for breakfast which proved slightly disappointing with rubbery fried eggs and the only toaster not working. However, would stay there again.
We booked the room as we were going to a concert at the BICC.
We usually use a central Hotel near the shops but wanted to try something new. We found the location really good- it was a good 10 minute walk to the venue along the coastline which we enjoyed. The room had a fantastic outlook as they allocated us a sea view room. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. We were initially worried about the hotel as some reviews had been scathing about the shabby interiors. It is a traditional hotel (not the new trendy kind) and the bathroom shower could have done with updating but other than that no issues - very clean and comfortable. We would have loved to stay longer and would use them again.
