The Manager - Exceptional Customer Service
The Customer Service provided by the front of house was as good as I have experienced in many 4 and 5 star hotel stays.
Could have done with extra towels as only enough for one person.
Great staff, above average facilities, great location
The decor and fixtures looked a bit tired but refurbishment was about to commence the next day.
Location was perfect for a relaxed getaway in a city. Great to have access to gym, sauna, pool, steam room etc. I would definitely go again when the refurbishment is finished.
Value for money
Castlefield is not a smart slick boutique hotel, but it does represent decent value for money.
The decor is dated and the rooms quite basic. But, I paid £55 per night for a spacious, bright, and reasonably comfortable room with a double bed, which is way less than others in the city centre. The added bonus for me was use of the gym and pool. Staff were efficient if a little abrupt , except David who was very friendly, and while I didn't use it - the restaurant and bar looked busy and the patrons happy.
Because this hotel is ideally situated for a weekend break in Manchester, with the centre being a walking distance and the popular eating and drinking area of Castlefield, a mere 5 minutes,it is popular with Hen groups and therefore was quite noisy on Saturday night.
I suspect it would be much quieter midweek.
Friendly Staff, Good standard
The refurbishment of both the Foyer/Bar/Restaurant areas and the room itself was to a very good standard.
We were a bit worried when we saw the wooden floor in the room, that sound would travel from other rooms/floors but it didn't and we had a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was the usual buffet, which is never ideal, but as buffets go, it was good. Most of all the staff here are so friendly and helpful and there is always a good standard of cleanliness throughout. This, along with onsite parking makes this our first choice for staying in Manchester. (This was our fourth stay in the last couple of years)
Nice modern hotel with clean room
Nice hotel in a nice location.
Easy to find and get parked. Room very clean and comfortable. Only complaint would be that the prices got hiked up for the stone roses concert but everyone was doing it.
Hotel was spotless food fantastic and so where staff could not fault
Good location close to Deansgate with a decent gym an pool.
