Great accommodation but food a question!
Great room, great service but a problem with dinner.
Restaurant nice looking with a contemporary menu that failed to deliver. Ordered scallops at £8.95 and was served up 3 Luke warm scallops the size of 5p coins. They did them again and this time hot but very small. I'd advise the chef not to bother with them if his supply is this poor in size and flavour. Main course of rib eye steak at £18.95 served on a chopping board, I'd rather have a warm plate, steak good quality but accompanied with droopy, jacket on fries in a basket with a mushroom doused for some reason in what I could only think was wine vinegar......not good. If this hotel raises its good to the standard of its rooms that could only be a good thing.
Wonderful staff and interior design...
Was a very nice and pleasant stay, staff really friendly and the full English breakfast in the morning was just right.
A nice selection of pastries and cereal along with juice although none was fresh just from concentrated products. The room was presented lovely with a beautiful decor and sea view, the only issue I had was that it was a double bed room but the bed was 2 singles put together which made me and my partner feel slightly segregated in bed due to the differing heights of the mattresses... Other then that 1 issue was a perfect hotel which made are weekend abit more special... Thanks.
A gorgeous boutique gem on the seafront
What a delightful hotel tucked around the bay.
High standard of decor and customer service.
We had a courtyard room (back of the hotel) which was small- but still v well appointed. A very comfortable bed & lovely linens.
We ate in the restaurant which was delicious & well presented.
Would definitely recommend.
Lovely Clean Room with courtyard view however beware of Room No.6
The location of the hotel is excellent, near to Turner Contemporary.
Room was smaller than we hoped, however it was spotlessly cleaned, and fully equipped, so no complain. If you could afford extra, I would recommend a seafront view room as the courtyard view was not so attractive, you could see other neighbours messy courtyards, so we had the blind closed most of the time, then it was fine, and we enjoyed the room........until we both got electric stock when in shower, that was a terrible experience. Next morning when we check out, we made a complaint, and even before we finished our sentence, the receptionist said to a cleaning lady "I told you, it's room 6". So very obviously it happened before. We were told an electrician came in before but found no problem and commend that was static. We said it was definitely not static, and finally we run the shower and show them, and it was confirmed to be electric shock. The staffs were apologising to us, but we felt the stay was ruined due to this unpleasant surprise, so we decided to request partially refund and was accepted by the hotel. However it was the experience no one need during their stay. This kind of problem they should take it very seriously even if this may cost them more than they hope to fix it completely. I hope they are already tackling the problem properly and will not take the chance to let someone else stay in this room until fully resolve the problem. So we would strongly recommend you to request not to stay in Room 6, just in case the problem is still not fix yet. Otherwise, everything else was good as we said above it was a nice stay!
The room had not been cleaned there was dust everywhere.
My husband is a professional cleaner and noticed the room was so dusty and the manager checked and agreed and gave my husband a free drink.
The room had an ajoining room door and that night I heard everything from the room next door which was not pleasant. We had a meal included with the room and I ordered a steak with pepper sauce which when pored out had no peppercorns and flooded the board the steak was on. I was given another pot of sauce where all the peppercorns were at the bottom of the sauce and had no flavour. The manager that night also split a glass of wine over some customers. Sorry we will not be back.
Enjoyable Short Break
We booked a short break at short notice.
The hotel was an older building, but it seemed as if there had been some modernisation to the interior. Room was spacious, clean, pleasant. Good breakfast every morning with friendly service. Friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely hotel situated in a good central location.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great little find!
Great boutique style hotel, close to everything.
Great service and lovely little hotel
Lovely stay at genuinely boutique hotel
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely boutique hotel.
My room was spotless and tastefully decorated, the shower was huge (with lovely White Company toiletries) and the bed very comfortable. I had a room with a sea view and, though I worried slightly that being on the main road would be noisy, it was not. It is quite a small hotel and I could hear a bit of creaking in the ceiling when the upstairs occupant moved about but that is the only (extremely picky) niggle I can mention. The restuarant has a lovely, intimate atmosphere and the food was extremely good - the ice-cream that was on the side of my very nice sticky toffee pudding deserves 5 stars on its own. The chef came out to see if I had had a good meal which was a lovely touch. Overall a great value stay in a very nice place - would thoroughly recommend.
Great Little Hotel
What a great little find.
I arrived very late, only to find the chef in the restaurant was hanging on just in case I wanted dinner. The restaurant staff and the food were great. My room although small was really beautifully furnished and very comfortable. I couldn't have asked for more.
