Food was fantastic and staff were very helpful.
Small Room - Big Breakfast
Our room was a little tired with the quirky feel of a very old building.
The bed sloped down towards the head end but was comfortable. The sound insulation from other rooms was lacking but wasn't a disturbance too late. The TV was wall mounted but hard to view as it was high up and there were no chairs to sit on. The bathroom was a couple of bulbs short but there was sufficient light.
Me, my wife and our six month old son had a great time here.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, we had plenty of room and a four post bed. There are some great views from the village and a playground across the road from the hotel with swings and slide.
The staff were good and very polite.
The evening meal and breakfast were very good. Service was also very good.
Lovely old building, had lovely room with views across the village green.
Set in excellent location. Room was clean, breakfasts good, didn't try evening meals. Have read some awful reviews on this place but our experience was the opposite. Liked the fact that dogs are welcome although we didn't bring ours.
Last minute break
Hotel is not the ritz but this is not a complaint, it is what it is, over 600 years old.
We loved the unspoilt ambience, to kit a building like r his with modern furniture would ruin it. The staff were really good the food excellent and the breakfast was incredibly good, can't fault it. The bed was very comfortable and the views from the room outstanding. The only thing that let the room down was a lack of shower my partner has joint problems so she wasn't able to get into the bath
All in all we really enjoyed it.
