100% would recommend it to a friend
One night stay
Everything really good and owner very helpful.
Only down point would be the heating - small radiator not independantly controlled and room very cold.
The Old Courthouse
This accommodation is charming.
It is a very old building with quirky, but very interesting rooms. In short it is unique. The owner is very keen to ensure that his guests are welcome and have the best experience. I have stayed here a number of times, each of which has been extremely enjoyable.
We stayed here because we were at a wedding at the Royal, just 1 minutes walk away and much less expensive than the Royal.
Ideal in fact as we could have a drink and stagger back to the hotel at any time. The owner, Christopher, was extremely friendly and helpful and the rest of the staff were very friendly. Do not be put off by the approach which is initially by bell and not 'open door' policy. Breakfast we excellent, eat whatever with plenty of fruit and extras. Room was large, quiet and comfortable. Would recommend. Not suitable for people with walking disabilities.
Beautifully quirky family run B&B
Beautifully quirky B&B, run well by Christopher who is attentive, approachable and genuinely interested.
Wonderful old building with some very nice eccentic touches, very homely decorated. Felt more like you were staying with a friend rather than a B&B. Lots of character and life in the house and the room, some might say eccentric but we really liked the decoration and the uniqueness of it all and would rather stay in a room with character than a souless chain hotel for example. The bathroom in the room was very small, but then these houses were not designed to have an ensuite being centuries old, I thought the space was utilised well. Breakfast could have been managed a little better but did not spoil the stay in any way
Parking is protected but due to the one way system, it seemed a little drive but ends up being just behind the house. Christopher telephoned us to make sure that we were on the way and helped us to locate the parking, very knowledgable of the local town amenities and gave an excellent recomendation for evening meal at Mondo (highly recommended Bistro)
Would definitely stay again
A chance to move into history
The welcome was warm and friendly with caring service.
The building was very traditional with historical features so it had character. For some the furnishings would have been too dated and rather in need of a modern uplift and some of the rooms were rather cluttered, though for some this would give a homely, lived-in feel.
This is very quirky accommodation in one of the oldest houses in Ross-on-Wye and in a great location.
The owner, Christopher was very welcoming and having driven around the one-way system four times (my fault), he waited on the side of a road for us, jumped in our car, and directed us directly to his private car park which we were very grateful for. He was very friendly, recommending a local pub and a curry restaurant (which is just what we wanted), and even went into the restaurant to ensure that they had a table for us. Our room was spacious and quirky - though only downside was that our bathroom was very small. All in all, a friendly stay in a great location.
The Old Court House
This place was really excellent.
It was an old atmospheric building with lots of character. My room was very spacious and the breakfast was very well prepared. The owner was friendly and extremely helpful and I intend to stay there again next time I visit Ross on Wye.
The owner went out of his way to be helpful.
Facilities in the rooms were plentiful, though the bathroom could have been rather cleaner around the sink. Breakfast was generous in helping.
