Ideal place for contractors
Cheap digs whilst working at twickinham had everything we needed plenty of car parking spaces very helpful friendly staff and quite local bar downstairs had a good sleep everyday
My wife and I along with 4 other couples ranging in age from 18 upwards stayed for 2 nights as it was a fairly convenient location for Twickenham.
When we got in the pub and tried to check in the young girl said she wasn't sure if we would all fit but that there was a caravan in the car park that we could use!!. We sorted the rooms by her sending some later arrived to another pub down the road. We were shown to our rooms, there was no bedding, only one of the rooms was en-suit and no towels. The shared bathroom was Damp and smelled of drains and the en-suit was pretty dirty too if you look closely. One of the keys also fitted other rooms and vice versa. We eventually got bedding but no pillow cases. The first night was interesting as someone from the bar tried to get in my son and girlfriends room (which was the attic) and then peed up against the door. Another of the rooms was directly above the kitchen and just stunk of chip fat. We passed on breakfast as it didn't look too good and the toaster that was for use was covered in about an inch of fat. We returned on the Saturday evening and luckily on one of the 5 sets of keys there was a key to get in as it was after closing time. Another interesting night with another guest smashing the front window of the pub trying to get in. We skipped breakfast again and headed away at haste. I feel sorry for the young girl who was running it as she had far too much to do with no help from the owner who seemed more interested in watching another gentleman scatter broken roof tiles around the car park!!!. I have been given nothing but grief from my friends for booking this flea pit. Just glad the next evening I got to spend in a 5 star luxury hotel suite in central London. Chalk and cheese. Avoid the Old Oak Tree at all costs. I am no snob and have stayed in some rough places around the world but this matches some. I hope that the young girl behind the bar gets some help as she is trying her best.
The Old Oak Tree Inn
One of the worst hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, it was damp and smelt damp, I couldn't stand up in the room as the ceiling was so low I banged my head a number of times, the TV had been ripped off the wall and was just balancing on a chair, the room was thick in dust and the shared bathroom was I need of a good clean it stunk and was so dirty I only used it once in the 2 days.
The worst hotel I have stayed in
Price increase on check in.
Room filthy, noisy with draft. Toilet disgusting with brush placed on floor next to the toilet. No TV, no towel, thin duvet. Light was just a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. Hotel fuse box in the room. Window up against bed. Kettle on the floor next to the door. Fire alarm goes off in the morning at 6:30 - no one to inspect and switch off until 30 minutes later. No one to check you out. Just left key in door. Parking was free.

I stayed in room 5, Kingfisher Suite.
Bathroom wasn't cleaned with dirty towels on floor. More importantly, when I woke in the morning I found I was covered in bite in excess of 40. Flees or bedbugs seem to run rife here....
