Avoid like the plague.

The noise and smell from the extractor fan was appalling, the room was quite simply horrible in both it's state of decor and it's cleanliness. Despite notices saying that there was an issue with the hot water in the shower being ok on low power there wasn't any and the breakfast was of a very low standard. I would have been better staying in my car.

Response from hotel

Bizarre, every year during the new wine fortnight we seem to get a review that is totally out of keeping with our general feedback, of 18rooms, 11 have already booked for the corresponding stay next year.

Unlike most of our competitors in the area, we do not increase our tariffs during the summer and pride ourselves on value and customer service.

Excellent value for money

Everything was fine for the money.

There were a couple of snags - wifi wouldn't connect and TV reception was poor. It would have been nice to have a chair in the room but not essential.

Great location, excellent service

Great location, easy to find, rooms were very clean and tidy, only downside for us was the radiator wasn't plumbed in and it is November so was cold but thankfully the heat from the pub downstairs kept the room warm.

Other than that great place to stay, will return again.

Carnival night in Cannards Well, Shepton Mallet

No electric socket near to mirror in bedroom made hair drying a problem.

Bathroom door would not shut properly and one of the shower screens was a bit awkward to open and shut.

Great breakfast.

The Cannards Well Hotel

A bit shabby and old-fashioned.

Not in very good repair though quite adequate. The delightful people made it worth the stay - pleasant and helpful despite long hours.

Nice pub but staying there was noisy.

We could here the TV in the next room and there was loud music playing till very late. Even though it's an old building, the rooms inside could be made better. When we went down for the buffet breakfast there was hardly any food.

Overnight stop

Would seriously re omens this hotel.

The staff are very friendly, cannot fault the accommodation, and there is no time you must be in by. According to the website no pets allowed, this is incorrect. We would be recommend this hotel to everyone and is such a nice change to be able to take your dog with you to somewhere other than a holiday park. Thank you to all.

Needs a bit more TLC

We stayed here as it incredibly handy for New Wine at the show ground down the road.

They have spent money refurbishing, new carpets and lots of nice pictures on the walls. Our suite just needed a bit of TLC....hole in the carpet, broken panel on front of bath. However the beds were good and the hot water plentiful which are the most important things.

Response from hotel

Thank you for your comments, much appreciated, and just to let you know the carpet will be replaced ASAP.

Hope to see you again next year.

Regards, Caroline
