Excellent Classic Hotel
A contemporary hotel with a real 1930's classic feel..
Beautifully and tastefully fitted out, superb room and excellent service from properly trained, warm and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Hotel is superbly located just back from the quayside alongside the old city gatehouse and a short walk from the heart of the city. Highly recommend this hotel which cost a fraction more than the good Premier Inns we usually stay at but was in a different league.
High quality central hotel
Hotel has a quality feel, staff were very attentive.
Location is very central and if you arrive early enough you may be able to park for free outside the hotel, saving £12-£15 night. Rooms were large and well furnished. Heating worked effectively, and there was little outside noise to spoil your stay. Shower was very effective, and although the bath can fill in 60-seconds I think there is a temperature limiter on the tap which prevents the bath water becoming too hot. The restaurant dining room was quite classy and the food was surprisingly good, high quality and well presented. It was great to visit a hotel that did not have wooden floors in the bar and reception areas, so you could actually sit, talk and hear each other. Definitely worth a return visit. Very handy for the station if travelling by train. Unfortunately the Sky Bar was closed during our visit.
Suite Accomodation !
Having booked a suite for my girlfriends birthday , I have to say, that disappointed doesn't even come close to how I felt on opening door to the room.
It is small, some might say "pokey" by most hotel standards & considering the price I Paid, far from good value for money.
One plus point is the location for walking to town etc & the staff were attentive & polite. Downside, make sure you shower early or you will be having a tepid shower by 8pm !!
Luxury in the Toon
Beautiful hotel in the centre of Newcastle, yet quiet and secluded.
Wonderful location within walking distance of all the historical sites and the shops.
An overnight stay
We had a lovely overnight stay for Christmas shopping.
great for parking lovely breakfast comfy and warm room
Sunday over night stay
Very impressive hotel beautifully decorated throughout.
Relaxing atmosphere and staff very attentive. All in all we had an enjoyable stay.
Comfortable hotel in a super location
We had a comfortable twin room with a view of the Tyne Bridge.
The laterooms room rate we got was good value for money. For those arriving by car the valet parking is an excellent facility. The public rooms and bedrooms are very well appointed. The hotel's location is good for the city centre, shops and restaurants and the Quayside. Breakfast was lovely but spoilt for us by a computer glitch. The waiter asked us for our room number and name which we gave to him but he kept returning repeatedly to our table telling us he could not find us in the records - quite embarrassing in front of other guests in the dining room. Eventually he must have found us and came back and apologised. We complained on checking out - the receptionist told us we had not been entered correctly in the computer when checking in. This was an unnecessary and unprofessional episode, a black mark in an otherwise perfect stay.
The managment are a joke rude and aggresive
The lining ie: My pillows had blood on them, nice.
The room was like a sauna. The Drum and base that kept us up all night stopped at 4am. Complained to The MD was told I was a chancer and put the phone down. sums the hotels whole attitude up in one. do not be Fooled. Would of got a better nights sleep in the car. Do not stay if you need sleep or want a clean room or a decent breakfast.
The Vermont Hotel
Nice Hotel, bad location.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The only problem we had was the noise from the nightclub. The noise stopped us from sleeping and we rang down to ask what time the club shut and was told around 3am, however, the noise went on after 3 am. I would not be staying here again.
