Ideally situated for the Lake District area
Lovely house and location.
Warm and friendly hospitality. Great breakfasts. Good pub within walking distance for evening meals. Extremely clean and comfortable.
Relaxing Lake District retreat
Stayed here for 2 nights during a bank holiday weekend at the end of summer.
Hosts were fantastic in terms of accommodating our late arrival time due to transit getting there and for suggesting activities to do and providing directions whilst in the area.
The property is nestled far back a country lane and is located near a public trail that you can use to explore for some outdoor fun. Excellent no-nonsense experience and a perfect way to disconnect from the connectedness that take over modern life.
We paid £85 per night for a small, cramped room with nowhere to put things down.
The room was small, dark and full of rugs, pictures, and bits and pieces. There was no wardrobe - just an alcove with a dark curtain over it. The bathroom had no bath - just a shower. It was described as a superior room but there was nothing superior about it. My advice is don't go there at that price.
Response from hotel
Thankyou for your feedback. We are very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. The room is a standard medium sized room, not small as you suggest. There isa spacious built in wardrobe area with a 5-drawer tallboy for guests to store their belongings. The large bathroom does not have a bath, but it has a 6 ft walk-in power shower as described on the website. The room has the normal items provided in a B&B such as a few books, hospitality tray for the benefit of guests. If you had voiced your concerns to us when you arrived we would have been happy to offer you a choice of accommodation.
