Two stays, two different experiences
The first stay at Arinza Hotel was a fairly good one.
The room was compact, but comfy enough (there is air conditioning); hanging space was limited, but OK; the bathroom was small, but I've seen smaller. Breakfast is delivered to your room, at a chosen time and it was bang on time. It's a tray of mixed pastries (packaged) and a juice. After that, I'd have recommended it. In fact I booked for the following week. BUT, and it's a big BUT, the second stay was terrible. The room was a little bigger, which was good; the bathroom still compact. But the mattress was disgraceful. I've seen better mattresses abandoned in skips. It was thin, you could feel every spring, it was saggy and gave no support. Very, very uncomfortable. I'd booked breakfast for 08:00 and it simply didn't arrive. Very poor. When I went to hand in my room key, if the receptionist had shown any interest and asked how my stay was, I'd have told him. But he barely said a word. I shall not be going back.
HORRIBLE will never stay here again. Dont bother going there
We stayed in room 4.
As we entered you could smell the room,it stunk horrible. There was a sky light window which hadn't been opened for yrs by the smell of the room. This was the only window in the room. Of which you could not reach to open as to high. The bed and bedding stunk.When we got out of bed in morning we stunk of the bed,couldnt wait to have a shower. The bed cover smelt damp. The carpet was dirty. They need to open the sky light every day to let in some fresh air. Whwn we got home we had to wash all our belongings of which had been in the room just for one night just to get the smell off them. Our suit case had to be left out doors for a good air. what can we say good about the room. The tv worked WOW. We would never stay here again. Wish we had complained but didn't bother as we were out most of the time and time we got back at night we were to tired and just needed a good nights sleep of which we never had. In the morning the light through the shy light woke us up very early,as no way to cover it up.
Arinza Hotel London
Poor customer service.
No tea or coffee making facilities provided in the room. wecwere told that breakfast was not included even though our booking confirmation included breakfast. All in all it ruined what was an enjoyable weekend.
Okay for the money
In general the room was okay- we had booked a superior double so should have had a king size bed but on arrival advised they'd been a problem with their booking system and only a standard double available.
They did however reflect this in the price charged. The staff were quite friendly and we were able to store a bicycle in the room with us which was great. General cleanliness was okay but could have been improved as could the general maintenence of the property. Overal for money paid in London was slightly better than I'd expected.
Not quite what we expected
This is a non-smoking hotel, but we could smell stale smoke when we entered, which particularly upset my partner.
The room size (Standard Double) was just about adequate for our short stay. Good things;
Air Conditioning worked well. The bedroom and the bed linen were clean. The bedside lights were adjustable (although not from the bed). The shower was powerful and as hot as you'd like. The car park was properly surfaced and spaces were well defined. Bad things;
Perplexingly, the maximum height of the shower would be too low for most adults. The wash basin was tiny and water went all over the floor when having a wash. There was no soap tray or shelf in the shower cubicle. There was no door closer on any of the guest room doors, so we were woken by early risers leaving. There were no plug sockets around the table to plug in a laptop or other equipment. Only one chair was provided for two guests. The hotel instructions were very brief. The breakfast (taken in the room) was just packaged items you could have gone and bought in a shop (except milk for cereals).
Arinza Hotel London
Unsure of area.
A good alternative
I attended a 3 day show at the Excel, with hotel prices close by being crazy I booked in here for 2 nights.
After the show its about a £25 cab ride back and a £4.90 train ride in the morning. Worth staying here if you want to cut down the cost of staying in London but still be close enough. The hotel itself was clean and the room was very nice so would recommend to business travellers
My Arinza Experience
Had a good time at the Arinza Hotel, good value for money.
Didn't have breakfast during my stay so don't know what their breakfast is like, but suppose it should be decent. Few things I didn't like during my stay are: the cleaners knocking the door even when you had the sign do not disturb displayed on your door, there was a sound I kept hearing like a phone vibrating in my room. Could had been the AC. Finally the weekend I spent over there had a few noisy people come in late at night and deprived me of my sleep. Other than those few things mentioned, its a nice place to stay, very close to shopping centre and good location in general.
Not one of the best rooms I've had.
The shower leaked, the fan for the air conditioner above us kept us awake most of the night. The fire exit side glass broken & noticed one of the room doors lock system the batteries were on show. I just felt uncomfortable being there but glad it was just for the night. Also the only window above our head was open which was mouldy.
5th stay here
arrived 3pm and room wasnt ready.
i asked for another room while i wait (they said it wud be an hour) and i had to be showered and changed within that hour. was given room 7 temporarily- the bedding absolutely stank, unbearable!. it also had no shower door so i ended up flooding the bathroom. after an hour i was given room 2 (i've stayed in this room before). the bedding also stank (to a lesser degree) even when housekeeping changed the sheets. the shower leaks at the bottom of the door so more flooding and slipper floors. kettle has been broken for more than 12 months.
had to ask for breakfast on day 1 and day 2 i didnt bother- consists of bowl of cereal, croissant, yoghurt and muffin. parking is difficult as friends of staff keep them company over night and use the spaces instead of leaving it for customers. if other hotels had a fridge and microwave for a similar price i wud not ever stay here.
