Bayswater Inn Hotel
Great for the price.
Quite basic - enjoyable.
Cheap and Nasty
Not the greatest hotel, great location, poor facilities, and when I asked for an iron and ironing board, I was told then dont have an ironing board and to iron on the bed.
After being told I had no room several phone calls to the reception where everytime I asked to speak to manager I was told they're not in.
Arrived into hotel outside looks perfect went inside my room smelt of smoke and not just a hint the whole corridor stunk. Suffering from asthma not ideal went downstairs told the receptionist their response being I'll go spray some air freshener. after finally getting a change of room to apparently one of the best rooms was a joke, unclean, dated. half done jobs wires no signal or wifi and being woken up at 7 to the smell of burning toast no thank you.
I have stayed at Bayswater Inn before and am highly likely to stay there again.
It is conveniently located for central London in a quiet location and is far less expensive than many London hotels. It is clean and even a small room has an acceptable amount of floor space. On this occasion, it was slightly frustrating to find there was no mobile phone call reception in my basement room (e-mails and text worked, but I had to go out into the street to make a call). A little more concerning - and not highlighted when booking - was the receptionist's expectation (demand even) that I produce personal identification when checking in. In the end, she seemed satisfied by my presenting a print-out of my Laterooms booking confirmation and kept a copy of it at the same time as making the credit card payment. This has never happened in any other hotel I have booked through Laterooms (nor before at Bayswater Inn) and perhaps this was an over-zealous individual. But if it is a requirement of the hotel, it should make this clear when one makes the booking. What if a guest has no passport, driving licence or printed out booking confirmation with them. And why do they need this for UK customers anyway?
Dont do it
Nice reception area, that's about it!
I stayed for one night on business, the WiFi was non existent in my room and shockingly poor in reception - despite paying £10 for the privilege.
I had to wait 45 mins for my room, only to be told it still wasn't ready at 3.30pm. Missed an important meeting because of this. I demanded any room and was "upgraded" to a twin. The room was very basic and was 40 years overdue a refurb. I echo the other reviews - the walls are very thin and you can hear everything. The corridor fire doors slamming all night too. Luckily I travel with ear plugs. The toilet seat was broken, and one of the complimemtary shower gel packs was ripped open, used and not replaced. I avoided the breakfast after reading the reviews the night before. All in all, very disappointing for the premium price paid. I won't stay again and advise you don't either.
Fawlty Towers Revisited
This was like an episode from Fawlty Towers we stayed 5 nights and it was like a comedy of errors everyday fire alarms going off randomly each day, lift not working, no running water, staff knocking on your door at midnight accusing us of smoking in the room, no Wi Fi in the room, no fridge, reception staff unable to give me a line out to makes an international pho call because the wifi did not work and so the list goes on - very disappointing.
We came back to this area as we had such a good experience at London house Hotel the previous week unfortunately they were fully booked - I now understand why.
Bayswater Inn Hotel
It was nice and clean but very basic.
Great value for centre of town
Fab room, clean, well kept.
In the morning I needed access to an iron and ironing board. The reception team brought it up for me to use in the morning. Excellent service.
This hotel is a discrace you only get 1 pillow per person the room needed re decorating the bed was in uncomfortable/ the lift is very dirty and stops at every level even if nobody has requested it and the breakfast was a joke not enough seating for everyone.
The hotel needs updating. It was a let down as the area it's in is very nice we won't be staying there again.
