100% would recommend it to a friend
Enjoyed our stay The West Arms is in a lovely old village a beautiful setting, the inn is a lovely old building.
Breakfast was really enjoyable best scrambled eggs ever.
We ate in the inn on the evening the bar staff were so helpful and friendly. Once in the dining room the waiter ignored us walking by 3 or 4 times without acknowledging us which was a very uncomfortable feeling, we were the only couple in the dining room. Eventually the bar man came in and saw us and we got served.
The food was very good but I do feel it is overpriced Scampi and Chips £16.00. Deserts £6.80.
An amazing place very comfortable clean and friendly
Beautiful surroundings peaceful place
Thouroughly enjoyed our night's stay.
Visit to Eisteddfod
We stayed at West Arms for 2 nights as it was close to Llangollen and I was competing at the international Eisteddfod festival.
The staff were very helpful and provided a light breakfast in the room at 7am on Saturday due an early start. Cooked breakfast on Sunday was delicious. We stayed in the chauffeur's annexe which was small but adequate.
The West Arms
Lovely Country B&B
Lovely countryside B&B, excellent food, really friendly staff.
There was little or no mobile reception, but fortunately the wifi throughout the B&B and in my room was very reliable. Just a little note - if you are in the annexe, in particular Chauffeur 2, and over 5'7" you won't be able to stand upright in the bath to have a shower as the ceiling is very low!
Stayed just the one night as a short break.
What a great find. The West Arms is set in the idyllic Ceirriog Valley in the Berwyn Mountain range. The centuries old hotel is warm and welcoming as are the staff. The evening meal was what I can only describe as amazing. The fillet steak was not cheap but it was the most tasty I have ever had. The portions were generous and this made for a fabulous evening. Breakfast was equally good with good portions. Although my first visit to Glyn Ceirriog, it will not be my last.
I chose this hotel so that I could visit railways at Llangollen, Oswestry & Welshpool.
Llanarmon DC is a pretty village, nestled in a hollow, surrounded by lush green hills (WiFi most welcome!). The staff were friendly and attentive. The single room was comfortable, with toilet and bathroom 'down the landing' (not a problem for me). Even in mid-June, there was a roaring open fire in the main reception area. The breakfast was extensive and excellent. The evening menu had limited choice for a vegetarian.
We arrived in the dark and peered down into the valley to see the West Arms lit against the back drop of the hills behind it.
Although very quiet when we stayed the staff were charming and bent over backwards to chat and make us feel welcome. The food was simply exceptional. An experience not simply a meal. The wine list is fantastic and the menu well thought out with some exciting combinations of traditional dishes and modern techniques. The location is simply stunning. The lack of mobile phone reception made our stay even better!
I had a superb one night stay at the West Arms.
Food was fantastic and the service and hospitality was first class. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
