Beautiful Stay in a Beautiful Town
My Husband and I stayed here for one night as we were attending a Birthday party in Shepherd Neame Brewery just around the corner.
We chose this Inn initially for convenience however after viewing images of the hotel and their menus etc we were glad we chose it. Upon arrival we were not disappointed. The place is beautiful, very quaint and quirky due to its age but well maintained and looked after none the less. This certainly adds to its charm. We ate in the restaurant for lunch and the food was fabulous. Highly recommend their steak and bacon pie option. Despite being informed that they were a member of staff down, they still managed to take care of all our needs and we didn't feel remotely neglected. The standard room we stayed in (room 9) although on the smaller side, was lovely, nicely decorated, vintage in style and clean with a vintage bathroom to match. It had all the amenities that we needed, lots of freebies such as body wash, shampoo & conditioner, soaps, lotions etc and everything functioned as it should so we were more than happy. Breakfast was also great with a varied selection of things available. I had cereal and toast with fruit and my husband said his full English was delicious. Overall, we are glad we chose to stay here and would definitely return if we ever returned to Faversham. We would also recommend this lovely place to anyone should they need a place to stay or eat :) Thank you LateRooms.com for aiding our stay!
The Star Inn at Faversham
This is a lovely quaint pub centrally located, staff were really friendly and helpful.
The room was clean although you can hear noises from the bar and the saniflo toilet does make alot of noises but it was comfortable and the meal was very nice as was breakfast the next morning, definately good value for money and we would certainly stay here again
The Sun Inn is well located and a pleasant old building.
Young staff helpful and friendly. We had an excellent meal in the evening in restaurant ( the kitchen had just sorted a table of 24 and were very organised). The only downside was our room, booked very late, Room 2, was above the kitchen with extract duct in wall. It was extremely hot and we couldn't sleep. An air conditioning unit would sort the problem. Area outside kitchen and bottom of stairs to the guest rooms needed a good clean.
Bed was like concrete!
We appreciate we were staying in a pub, but standing at a busy bar with bags not knowing where to check in, didn't get our stay off to a great start.
Once we'd ascertained we had to check in at the bar, Rob, who showed us to our room, was really helpful and gave us lots of information about our stay.
The room was small but very tastefully decorated and it was nice and warm. There were lots of toiletries and generally it was pretty well stocked with tea, coffee etc. Breakfast the next morning was lovely - freshly cooked to order and the cafetiere of coffee was superb. The biggest complaint was the bed. I've never slept on such an uncomfortable mattress and I woke up several times in the night, aching. We only managed to get just over 4 hours sleep because it was so uncomfortable and for that reason we wouldn't stay again. I would rather stay further out and have to pay a cab fare in the hope of a better night's rest.
