Lovely spacious room and tasty breakfast

I stayed in the bungalow room to the rear of the property.

This also contains the kitchen, breakfast room and office. The room itself was very comfortable clean and spacious as was the bathroom. My biggest gripe was how noisy that area is. All conversations are clearly audible regardless of the volume or location. The doors don't offer much in the way of sound proofing. So after a late finish at work I was looking forward to a short lie-in, however as soon as any guests or staff entered the bungalow I was awoken and kept away by any conversation. Not sure what the simplest solution is, apart from staff perhaps being more aware of how easily the sound carries and giving guests the chance to enjoy a quiet rest.

A leisurely break

A fantastic place to stay.

Everyone was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation was very clean and it had everything you could wish for. We spent 3 nights and the walk into Cambridge was not too strenuous, but if you didn't want to walk there is a bus stop close by. The breakfasts were very good and there was plenty of choice and cooked to order so everything was fresh. We will definitely return.

Lovely stay and great value

We recently stayed at the home from home guesthouse, and had a very pleasant stay.

The breakfasts are fantastic, and the owner Vince was very helpful in giving us directions into town as it was our first visit to Cambridge. The hostel is about 15 minute walk from town, and a beautiful walk down the river. Highly recommended stay for those looking for a pleasant B & B.

Excellent breakfasts and facilities, slightly thin walls

A good B&B.

You have your own key to the house, and the room was warm and comfy, with wifi, tea/coffee provided, plus biscuits, and shampoo / soap etc. Patio area and outside seating looked nice (if you were staying in summer), and the breakfasts were really excellent - very good selection of options. We had full English each day and barely needed lunch. We did find that the walls inside the house were a bit thin and could hear other people moving around / talking in the morning, although this didn't present much of an issue.

Pleasantly surprised

Booked after reading Trip Advisor Reviews, booked the small double, knowing it was going to be small after reading reviews, and was fully prepared for that.

However, we had been put in a double En-suite with kitchen/diner attached, it was lovely. Spotless. Food great, and very friendly throughout, would definitely return.

Home to home

Booked a couple of nights for a birthday treat.

Arrived late due to traffic this proved to be no problem as we telephoned ahead. We were greeted by Vince who is a most welcoming and helpful host( the pub is recomended). Our room was clean and tidy. Home from home provided the perfect base to see Cambridge as it is only less than fifteen minutes walking and some of that is along the river bank. Breakfast is a perfect set you up for the day. All in all brilliant and we have talked about returning.
