Enjoyed our stay.
Great location, lovely hotel
Friendly helpful staff, didnt realise it was such a lovely area.
Weekend break to Chester
I stayed in the Lord Nelson suite, which has a comfy four poster bed and a large bath.
It was very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was first class (both dinner and breakfast), with a good menu choice and good choice of wines and beers (real ale ones also).
Great Hotel for the money
Great location, very helpful staff and good food.
The rooms are a little basic but comfortable and clean - will definitely stay again.
Great mid-week break
Good location for exploring Dee estuary countryside.
Comfortable, with good service at very reasonable price. Excellent evening meal.
Really enjoyed our stay at The Ship.
The rooms had amazing views over the Dee estuary and for a three star hotel the standards were above and beyond what was expected. Staff were friendly but seemed a little busy on the bar due to the popularity of the food. I can recommend going for the sightly more expensive larger rooms on the front, they are well worth it.
OK, One Night Only
Room was small and in need of attention, though bathroom had recently been refurbished.
The room was stifling in the evening but in fairness there was a fan left to keep temperature at reasonable level. The door rattled with the least bit of breeze. Breakfast was fine and evening meals, although I did not eat there, seemed popular.
The Ship Hotel Parkgate
An excellent location, the hotel provides unspoilt views across the Dee estuary.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the quality of locally source food is very high. Overall a very pleasant and value for money destination that I would recommend without hesitation.
A lovely stay in an unusual location
I enjoyed The Ship.
It overlooks a salt marsh and the Dee estuary, which in itself was an unusual experience for me, on a long and characterful esplanade called The Parade. My room was recently modernised and very comfortable. The young staff were polite. friendly and respectful. I had a very nice meal. I like what they have done with the pub/restaurant where they have made necessary changes (eg nice new flooring) but kept an old-fashioned atmosphere. Has made me want to visit the area again on a short break with my wife.
