The perfect break ..
Breathtaking views from all aspects of the hotel.
I requested something special and they gave us the four poster room with outdoor area. Peaceful, the most comfy bed, welcoming non judgemental staff. Reviews and photos do not do this hotel justice and I've lived and travelled all over the room. Healthier options for breakfast needed. The spa is amazing ... from glass fronted steam and Dana to the most beautiful setting for an outside spa and I've visited and worked at a lot of spas:). Will definitely come again.
Beech Hill Hotel & Spa
I paid around 30 pound extra per night to get a room with a view , however my room was just below the bar and the terrace so it was noisy most of the time.
Clean & Warm
Very nice hotel, that was very clean and warm.
As other reviews have stated the hotel is getting rather dated with worn carpets and badly fitting windows BUT this does not detract from the location, the evening sunset was stunning and you forget where you are. The staff are brilliant and nothing was to much trouble for them, can not praise them enough. If your not that good with stairs then I would advise a different hotel, as its built into the side of a hill, a lift can not be fitted and its a fair few flights of stairs up and down to the rooms etc. Great hotel, right next to the lake with stunning views, clean, warm and friendly staff...
Rooms were very expensive considering how far away from Windermere the hotel is situated, the view however was amazing
Beech Hill Hotel
Shower was average
Our break in September
Hotel was excellent and in a lovely position overlooking the lake.
Would have been helpful to have a hotel information brochure in the room but the staff always answered our queries. We made full use of the swimming pool every morning. The facilities could do with a little updating but everything was to hand. I would certainly recommend the hotel and would hope to visit again.
Below average stay.......
Although the customer service was really good, the hotel itself has a lot of upgrading to do to make it a hotel that can compete against the best hotels.
The room was very basic and I expected more for the price. The hotel needs a lot of work doing on it with noticable rot throughout. There was no wifi in the hotels rooms only in the lobby which again for the price we paid we expected it as standard. Finally there wasn't any lifts in the hotel and in this day and age this again would be standard in any hotels with more than one floor.
Wool pulled over my eyes!
Be warned that your room will not be in the beautiful building you see in the pictures.
All rooms will be in a flat roof shed at the bottom of the garden away from the beautiful building. Thought I would treat my wife to something special and stay in a Grand hotel, but NO!. £160 for a night with dinner but felt the room was only worth £50 very disappointed. I will say that the food was very good. I wonder if late rooms know they are doing this?
Stunning views let down by lack of maintenance
I was completely blown away by the stunning views on entering the hotel, however, our room had black mould all over the curtains and the shower curtain and the room could really do with a revamp.
Staff were excellent, really first class. I couldn't help but think the hotel had let itself down, absolutely stunning views and wonderful staff, but nobody has maintained this beautiful hotel to the standard it should be.... A huge shame.
Beech Hill hotel
The hotel staff are nice and friendly and the hotel is starting to look a bit dated.
The hotel is built into the hill side so lots of steps to get anywhere, also the hotel is located on the main road with limited parking.
