The Cottage Inn

the room was quite small and the radiator wasnt working although a heater had been left, it was a very cold night.

the shower cubicle was very small which made it difficult to use.

very pleasant

I have one negative feedback & that's the room I had on this occasion had a very bad smell of vomit.

Not a major issue for me but I did find it unpleasant.

Could be improved

On arrival we asked if we needed to book a table for the night to be told they wasn't cooking that night, nothing mentioned when i booked it.

We went to One Stop up the road and brought some Sandwiches to eat, We couldn't even have anything when we arrived because they stopped cooking as 2pm and we didn't arrive until 1.45 so this was to late. The landlord was lovely but his staff need customer service training as we felt so unwelcome, we sat in the bar on the night we arrived not to be spoken to this made us feel so uncomfortable, we went back up to our room at 7pm. The lady who cooked the Breakfast was lovely. I work with customer's and it doesn't take anything to say Hello Are you ok or are you enjoying your stay. The staff was too busy talking to the regular customer's, We wasn't told what time Breakfast was i had to look this up on my phone. We booked this to celebrate my 50th Birthday and our wedding Anniversary but this didn't make it enjoyable at all.

Nice and welcoming place would stay again and terrific value

This is a traditional English pub with accommodation - it's not a country pub but doesn't pretend to be.

The twin room I booked was perfectly adequate. A bit cramped but no problem for me and a colleague on a work trip.

Breakfast was served promptly and everything cooked well. The only gripe I had was the sauce on the beans wasn't to my taste - my mate never noticed and still eat them. Maybe I'm fussy. The best thing was the warm and friendly welcome. Everyone we met - staff and customers alike were all very nice and helpful. The joint best thing was the drinks. We only had one pint each - lager and a bitter - but they were spot on.

This one will be on my list for future work trips in the area.
