Great stay at the Sea Trout Inn
A gem of a country inn with a gourmet menu and easy parking.
We stayed for 3 nights and were pleased with the Sea Trout Inn. It is not the cheapest but certainly good value for money. The room was spacious with all that you could require; the WiFi was the only shortcoming as it was weak and intermittent although no problem in the restaurant/bar areas. The garden area was pleasant and the setting was pretty in a quiet village with little passing traffic. The South Devon steam railway passes in the valley and there is a pleasant riverside walk that takes you to the station in about 20 mins. The breakfasts are very good and there is plenty of choice. The lunch and evening meals are excellent and attracts quite a number of visiting diners in the evening. It's a cut above the cheap pub food and costs a bit more with lunch bites about £7 and evening main meals about £12 but worth it, there is a good choice of options too. The Palmers ale as usual is superb and worth a visit for that alone (as I enjoy good beer, perhaps I'm biased). Definitely recommend, why not try it.
Sea Trout Inn
I love this place.
Staverton is a quintessential small South Devon Village. You can walk down to the railway and the river, and along to the Steam Railway Station. The Sea Trout Inn has all you need for a decent stay, with the Bedrooms not long upgraded. Recommended.
Will placed country pub for Dartmoor and the coast.
Great rooms very spacious and clean. Food good value and well cooked
Pit stop stay
Usual high level of welcome and accommodating experience.
Great location, good welcome, lovely room, very good food, very friendly staff.
All in all a great stay. The pub is very dog-friendly but this does not mean that they can roam everywhere. The bar was full of friendly locals.
Sea Trout Inn
Was an old favourite until new owners.
Now further new owners who have revamped the bedrooms and brought it back up to a very satisfactory standard. Rooms are good & clean. Food good value. Lovely location in pretty little village. Will be back now on regular basis.
